The purpose of OC Very Taiwanese Meetup Group - OCTW is to have fun and meet new friends of the same Taiwanese background. A way to enhance Taiwanese and/or Taiwanese American community in all SoCal Major Counties (Orange/Los Angeles/Riverside/Ventura...) This group is for 20+ and 30+ somethings who are looking to meet fun, down-to-earth people their age who also happen to share some supposedly 'less than cool' interests. Since a majority of members in OCTW speak Mandarin and/or Taiwanese, ALL our events are (and will be) communicated and held in Mandarin and/or Taiwanese. OCTW will only admit applicants who can speak and/or understand Mandarin (and/or Taiwanese). This requirement ensures there is no misunderstanding in activity concerns and general communication challenges. If you cannot understand Mandarin/Taiwanese, but still would love to join us, please contact OCTW Organizers. Your understanding is greatly appreciated and we thank you for your interest in OCTW.
The type of events: All kinds of Activities - No matter it's indoor or outdoor Hiking, Camping, Cardio Running, Swimming, Beach, Bonfire, Kayaking, Badminton, Tennis, Basketball, Paint Ball, Shot Gun, Picnic, Karaoke, GoKart, Whale Watching, Movies, Bowling, Ice Skating, Lunch / Dinner, Afternoon Tea, Brunch, Shopping, Happy Hour Mixer, Holidays, Field Trips, Museum, Broadway Show ... you name it, we can do it together.
The followings are some friendly reminders:
No Show to an Event / Late to an Event / Special Regulations:
1. No Show to an Event:If you cannot make to an event, please cancel your RSVP at least 24 hours prior to the event and notify the event host(s). If a member does not show up to an event, or cancel the RSVP in less than 24 hours before the event, the member will receive a NO SHOW record on his/her profile and a friendly warning letter from us. Three NO SHOWs will revoke the member’s OCTW membership.
2. Late to an Event: OCTW organizers spend lots of their personal time and efforts in hosting events. Most events require 100% participations of members who sign up. Being on time is the key to have a successful fun group activity. Organizers do understand life is impermanent, unexpected occasions do occur. Please kindly notify event organizers, if you cannot make it on time, so organizers could make adjustments accordingly.
3. Special Regulations: Occasionally, there are regulations set up for a specific event. These Special regulations are created to ensure the success of that event. These rules will be set up and regulated by the hosting event organizer, whom receives full supports from OCTW Organizer Board.
Please respect all the hard work from our organizers by RSVP to our events, we need to plan ahead and accurate head count is very important to us. Of course, we are more than happy that you are coming to our event and we welcome you and will try our best to accommodate, but you might not have the chance to be with our group since we will only make reservation for members who RSVP Yes to our events.
Follow the rules and treat your fellow members with respect and we will have lots of fun.
Welcome to our OCTW Family! Looking forward to meeting you in person very soon!!!!!
Great News: OCTW is in Taiwan as well, come join us when you are back to Taiwan:
During all events, Members are responsible for themselves. The Organizer and Assistant Organizers/ Event Hosts are not responsible for the safety of the participants. We will try our best to prevent accidents, but are not responsible or liable if something happens to you. By joining the group, you acknowledge this.
