M0TBPV:

  1. MKFQY7:
    See http://1.JotHere.com/965#MNCK5C
--just follow that link for details on this occurrence, plus all before & after, including all current & historic changes & traditions
    1. MMIWYG: -we realize there “it's hard to see the forest (current details) due to the trees (all historic details)” +other formatting woes; so the formatting will be improving, and in rather exciting ways (as auto-generated listings).
  2. MKFRD3: Note several mobile web browsers, when following a link/URL, strip the link's bookmark/anchor (whcih is the URL text starting "#..") so in the opened web page page position it at the start instead of scrolling it to the desired point.
    1. MKFRIB: to fix this, get a web browser which doesn't have this bug or else search & position to the anchor point manually.

  3. MFMB3V: Event listing history, in order:
    1. MGEL2O: starting from listing creation, all authoring by I DestinyArchitect except if noted otherwise.
    2. MFRJYT: This listing is a copy of the prior listing & so on; so, for prior change/history entries here, see those.
    3. MNOVWC: update this listing for this next upcoming, basic, including change date from 2013.06.27Thu1730-2145 to already reserved 2013.07.15Mon1730-2130 and set repeat from last Thu to 2nd Mon; pst2013.05.31Fri1831.

Maximum GB in your rackmount storage.
*Greg S. brings this up when he said he was looking into building servers for this.
*I say a company in our very city builds such high-density devices. Here's the SMS I sent to my step-brother, quote(8/17/13 5:31 PM 2 months ago Me: http://PSSCLabs.com , the venue of yesterday's http://meetup.com/OC-HUG/events... (where I was at) and a attendee in this group, seem like they might be a better supplier for ur co than ur present supplier (Dell?) as super local(Lake Forest), possibly higher density(~50TB in 1U,&just 250W),&very approachable,&before delivery they 2week test ur order using ur target software config. Thoughts? 4:07 PM). Hope this helps, Greg. :-)

Read & write your Android filesystem wirelessly (via LAN) w/o a cable, and w/o loss of mod times.
*My phone's USB has permanently failed so this is the only way to get off my LivoRecorder files without loss of mod date: solving "getting out of Livo alive" http://1.JotHere.com/4194#MSW8B... which the maker never got back to me.
*Used (and demonstrated just now here) WebDav Server Ultimate (free) which I list on my comparsion table of Android file Managers http://1.JotHere.com/MSRUNV

WHERE/VENUE FOR THIS --put all that here in this thread

    October 12

    • DestinyArchitect

*Right after posting this, I SMSed Martin the pointer to this, then again today, and then called him & got & left vmail, but I have not heard back. But this currently still needs to be done, and it's important that new leaders take over stuff that I've been doing here, including reserving venues, as I need to move on to bootstrapping other groups & projects. So, Martin, awaiting your replies here.
*I am now hearing back from our possible robotics co venue http://meetup.com/OCA... but it's looking positive but it's not sure & solid yet to where we don't need to do reserve our usual venue.

UNU TABLET http://TheUnu.com (with Android 4.2 and 7in diagonal 1080p touch screen w/3D decoder)
    *Announced yesterday
*Made by a company I've never heard of before, apparently http://Sunflex-Europe.com of Germany, but nonetheless:
*Getting a lot of press, even at https://news.google.com/news/rtc... where I just heard about it today, including it's being compared with Google/Asus Nexus7 (2013) and the other top tablet models
*Notable as it appears high-performance and is a combination "Tablet+Gaming Console+Smart TV"+serves a set-top box (for big monitor display) including optional docking station + wireless air-mouse & keyboard
    *Lacks LTE(cellular data support)
*Most seriously it seems to lack GPS (including I found nothing, not even fixes, via http://google.com/search?q=Unu+... ), a killer for me as a primary tablet
*I'm keeping specs on it in my tablet table http://1.JotHere.com/MU7PLS item MUIO5J .

    October 11

    • DestinyArchitect

*This thread's URL: http://meetup.com/OCA... *I suspect our leader Bill http://meetup.com/OCA... will be interested in this, having bought a Android game console about last year and developed custom ROMs for it and presented it to us.

      October 11

    • Bill Zwicky

Display is 1280x800, not 1080. Video decoder can do 1080p60, and also 3D at 1080p30. RAM is 1GB, CPU model is not given but is fairly powerful as described. Price is excellent.

Android software/utility that copies/moves files to Google Drive else ftp also preserves mod times -know of any?
*I've got 100s of Livo Recorder files and it random #s them (unlike camera) so the only way to get the recording date is the mod time. So I need a utility to preserve mod times copying to say Google Drive else ftp. Know of any?
*Actually the USB storage manager (mounted by Windows Explorer) does preserve mod times but unfortunately the USB connector on this phone is failed (only reliably connects for a few seconds if that; so i keep the phone charged by an external battery charger)
    * http://android.stackexchange.co... says scp will do that but that seems a bit tricky (tho if in a pinch).
*High-rated AntTek Explorer https://play.google.com/store/ap... I tired but doesn't do it even mod dates within zip files --rests the mod time to present (sloppy IMHO).

    September 9

    • Bill Zwicky

Safest thing is probably to make a zip file of the whole mess, then upload it somewhere. ES Explorer is the standard for this sort of thing, but you might try FX Explorer which was written by a member of our group.

      September 9

    • Bill Zwicky

If you want to continuously upload files, you might try FolderSync. I don't know if it preserves timestamps. https://play.google.co...

"..[Android ]Developers[:] ..DevDistro is a special Linux Mint 13 which can be run as a VM on Windows, Linux, etc. It has pre-installed Android Developer Tools AND the tools to create a custom Android ROM. So far I have installed it under Windows 7 using VMWare and under Linux using VirtualBox. See creators postings: http://broodplank.net/?p=749 and http://forum.xda-developers.com... "
*originally posted by Martin at http://meetup.com/OCAndroid/eve... but that's the "WHEN" thread so it instead belongs here, and since also Meetup can't move comments (so it's important to post them right) so I'm manually reposting here.
*Bill might be interested in this as he crafted a custom ROM for his Android game console. Bill, what's the URL for that?

    September 9

    • Bill Zwicky

RoboRoach -yes,believe it or not, a big live cockroach controlled from your smartphone, via Bluetooth, as featured today on http://news.Google.com at http://mashable.com/2013/06/11/... *teaches neuroscience especially to kids in a clearly fun though easily sadistic way.
*video at that URL gives clear instructions on how to perform the necessary surgery, after ice-water anesthesia, to convert your roach into cyborg.
*It intentionally escape cruelty-to-animal laws by working on insects. Still, is it humane? Well I managed to skip dissections in biology; at best it's questionable.
*At any rate, an Android version will be necessary, as we can't have the groupie iOS fans controlling the RoboRoaches out there ;-) We need Android roaches for battle! ;-) So pre-order your kit and/or support the Kickstarter project at http://backyardbrains.com/produ... (roaches not included; but yes, available, too, & now, for $24 per box o 12 http://backyardbrains.com/produ... )

      July 7

    • DestinyArchitect

I don't recall exactly how I skipped it AP Biology. I just reacted (and still do react) to the dissertations "Icky!" and my senior year was taking all other AP classes offered (including much more pleasant but reasonably-intense AP Art History, plus a UCI classes as part of the UC High School Scholars Program, having run out of HS classes in say computers & math) and it seemed nobody complained.

This half day event (morning or afternoon) purportedly will cover using HTML5 and PhoneGap to build a cross platform App. The presenter is:
    Tim Anglade
    http://www.linkedin.com/in/tima...

He works for the sponsor Apigee which uses the Open Source Usergrid as an "App Services" backend.
    http://apigee.com/docs/usergrid...

Apigee also has native SDKs for Android, iOS, JavaScript, Ruby, C#, and a Node.js Module. I am assuming they will use the JavaScript SDK for this presentation.

*While great info, this kind of info doesn't belong here, per the Meetup's standard of key details of *only 1 event* per event listing, so only promote another event if it's just a URL to one of our other event listings with there the-details and ability-for-members-to-comment&RSVP (it generally must be listed or typically-relisted on a Meetup group its being advertised to as Meetup (unlike eVite) doesn't allow an RSVP to an event unless s/he's a member).
*Consequently, Martin subsequently posted it properly as its own event listings.

*I&likely all of us wd quite like u to come including we've very much enjoyed u prior (5)attends -why I'm making this spc post.
      *&yes I do note u've always joined us Thu(4x) else Fri(1 RSVP).
*As announced in May,our new sched is on Mon & so far works well(other than ur RSVP here) as tightly syncs w/our sister-group OCPython as noted&announced http://meetup.com/OCA... in our new board meetings, which are also on Monday to be in sync. To keep in this great sync, both mtg types (board&main) of both groups wd need to be changed to move to a different day, so it wd take a few problems before I'd move.
*So what if anything cd be done so u CD make Mon? -as getting u a ride, possibly some time moves (we're limited here), u attending remotely, or if possible ur somehow rearranging ur schedule? Just Reply here.
