With no idea of testing this,just being good 2all grps, I also listed this event identically on OCPython http://meetu.ps/wXzBj which has nearly as many mbrs(203 vs our 240) BUT THERE always ANYONE can get in w/0 stds(tho soon no more!). But by the event start,that got only 3 RSVP YES(compared 2our 8),&even tho SCaLE has~3x more converge on Python than Android;AND all 3 of those were a 100% waste of my time(~6hrs total waste helping em,as actually 0 showed-else-supported us -due 2em not reading&following the same clear dirs,+2of3 were quite disrespectful 2me when I stopped all2help em)-whereas here,100% of our self-RSVPing YES(~3x as many!) read&followed the dirs,&on own,&even tho they involved,+formed our grt team of 6 that manned our booth +WELL-promoted all the OTHER grps(OCPython,&even OC-PHP&OCDrupal)EVEN when 0 of em bothered to come&help. THAT'S TOTAL KICKIN-ASS, OCAndroid!, and it I think it comes from all of u -all of us_OCAndroid_- each being very hand-picked. Way to go!!

We got a # of ppl whose OCAndroid apps r pending, but cause of ur referral&support of Troy http://meetup.com/mem... I stopped&processed's app ; but I'm sorry 2see&say he blew off much of the most basic parts of our app dirs: 1st,tho Meetup&the Qs require a pic of1, he put in a bogus pic+when the Q MFWPic asked if he had a legit pic he falsely said "Yes", +2nd he blew off 2/3rds of the ans for Q MFTRef, When obviously I don't have much time preparing 10s of ppl to go to this event & more,this wastes time 4me having to stop&tell him what to fix,which is also particularly tricky to do on Meetup. Nonetheless I Greeted him what he needs to fix,all@ https://drive.google.c... (see in Firefox). Still,that kind of disrespect2our dirs&fr the start,&when he seemingly knows he'll get a $70 pass&more, makes him questionable as a mbr,& esp as a booth worker representing&selling our groups.

This pic http://goo.gl/40xW1 which Troy "kinda looks like" (wtf?) is a handsome guy(yea, kinda looks like a younger Bruce Willis; looks like that cd get him lots of romance mates and/or heavily command folks, &maybe inflate 1s ego). But regardless, if Troy "is really particular about putting his profile picture on line" then he just sd do the app directs, request a waiver there, not rudely put in place of his requested pic a book icon and esp say "Yes" (to ~"that is my real IDing pic"). If he does that, it's probably worth considering getting some other "+1" in general(not trust him) as he wants to join but immediately brake good guidelines&which most do,&instead of explaining,mocks the Q, a bad sign for anyone. I'd rec'd u start by asking him "Why did u show such disrespect?" and if not good answer, quit there. Also,u got me curious,how do u know this guy?

*But in hosting event for other including insuring most everyone else gets there, and gets an opportunity at a free pass to everything and working in our booth, I'm very saddened to say, trying as hard as I can, I just CAN'T MAKE TODAY FRIDAY.
**As I SMSed Bill "Me: ..Didn't get to sleep until ~7am, woke up ~1ht ago (3.5hrs sleep after almost non-stop work for days, but at least some sleep feels a lot better). 11:33 AM" as I've been working virtually non-stop nearing ~2 weeks w/the huge work of promoting&hosting 4 events,3 of them quite big,all happening now thru in the next 5 days,&2 overlapping. For lack of a better idea, I'd recommend making each carpool or hotel-share offer under 1's attendance thread as I've done here. Lucy, our banner will be hung from top bar as last year. Our is same size (6' x 2.5'). Actual booth size is 8' deep X 10' wide. We can display the banner at any location in the booth and no specified requirement for it. You may place the banner on the curtain (tape) or hang it in front of the table. I think you guys did front of table last year for best visibility.

Lucy Parker

Based on Destiny's basic ideas, I have designed some banners for our booth: a 8ftx1ft banner across the top of the drape at the back of the booth which says "Orange County Meetup Tech Groups" which could have any number of group banners below it. For example, on one side William's 6ftx2.5ft banner (displaying OC-PHP & OCDrupal) and on the other side 2 stacked 3ftx15in banners for OCAndroid & OC-Python. At Destiny's request, I also came up with a suggested OC logo for OC-Python. All done in 1/12th scale in InDesign with the resultant PDF https://docs.google.co... . This is for review. I will have to work on graphics to scale full size. Thoughts?

The group banners can also be hung in front of the table if desired. BTW, William, can you include a link to your banner PDF so we can see how the whole thing would look together?

Destiny, you did not communicate with me again about this and I do not approve of the 8x1 banner so do not print that for Saturday but plaster the booth as you wish on Sunday. Please only design your group banners as that is what you wished for. Due to the printed vinyl banner, ours will be hung (tied) from the top bar as mentioned. With the event two days away, this is why planning ahead and communicating would have been beneficial.

Lucy, your banners look great and closely align with ours. Ours simply has the two logos and group name below the logo (white bg).

Per ur feedback tho,I asked Lucy 2design the 8x1ft to 6x1ft so it cd hang fr the front table,so she did. The orig idea,hving a combo banner w/all the group names on it,has the problems I mentioned. But Lucy's&my's suggestion of a simple generic combo banner for the booth wd seem to solve those problems&more, and go along with & indeed enhance ur original(&very good idea) to have a combo tech group booth.

Lucy got up at 4am today and finished off the construction of the 3 banners she designed & proposed above, just slightly improved. She used InDesign tiling printing onto white light thicker 11x8.5in paper stock (like used for printing business cards but not perforated), and said after printing, the construction took her 4 to 5hrs -whoa! She cut the pieces to fit and then attached them with rubber cement plus clear std packing tape on the back and around the edges. And they also roll up nicely.

*Lucy, please also include here a link to PDFs should should one want to preview them or print them again.
*I suggested they hang via their edge tape, using safety pins on the back wall drape or clear packing tape on table. Lucy agrees.

**What the registration may not hv alerted u (did it? Where?) is the the minimal auto-registration is very restrictive due to WordPress sites being flooded with spam bots. So for instance, Miles comment was marked as pending until just now I approved it; hopefully WordPress is smart enough that his comments will now auto-approve -may take a few manual approvals.

Thought was clear, unless you have them scheduled for Saturday already, please do not solicit any more volunteers for Saturday period (for any groups). I get your idea that groups are separate and yadda yadda but we have limited room in the booth for every one to stand behind the table. Just do as you please with Sunday as OCPHP will not be there.

... I don't have time to freakin come back to this site each time to communicate about this stuff that should've been organized and arranged already. It takes absurdly a whole day to find out anything or to hear back from you. This is 2013. This is absolutely ridiculous. We do have a spreadsheet for volunteers but being we talked zero until like tues of this week and you doing your own calendar as i saw, what is the point of asking now really. We have volunteers for all day Saturday and booth is well manned so leave it at that. ....

....We had a blast hanging out in LA for that nodejs meetup but a shame organizing with you has been an absolute nightmare to say the least. Its a booth for a user group. We are not launching the space shuttle here. I truly hope things don't blow up Saturday cause my patience has run its course over this. I'm pretty much done with this nonsense about arguing on here so everyone gets it in their inbox. Why would you burden your members with this crap. When I have time tomorrow I'll forward that pdf. *Is it getting promises from people to work at our booth? -yes that's important, but we still have just enough time, esp as I've already rounded up here 9+RSVP YESes already, we just have to assign work times, which I'm now starting on.

Booth volunteering is good for Saturday (Bill and yourself are welcome to stop by tho to assist). Had to make those arrangements as zero communication. Do your own planning for Sunday for the booth. Due to persistent organizing difficulties, the groups will not be sharing a booth next year. I know what you say but I organize 3 groups, swamped at work, and have a family; I manage.

Glad u're working on this *in good advance*, something which hopefully rubs off on me. Yes, this is an auto-generated event as could guess via the original URL you quote ending in letters ( dprkkcyrcbxb ); by RSVPing, I've converted it to real digits. And yes the date needs to be fixed, plus the description. I will handle that soon. Yes would very much like to do a booth again as we did last year (shared & with scheduled workers) &even better; please feel free to get started on that.
