Hi: writing is so difficult; but isn't it true that there is a writer in each of us? I've attended a couple of writing classes and really enjoyed the experience. I find that I need the kind of stimulus and support a writing group can provide.
I enjoy writing short stories, usually about relationships. I would also like to edit some of my travel journals.
favorite stories: The Lottery, Araby; Heart of Darkness, The Open Boat; Barn Burning; the Metamorphosis, The Horse Dealer's Daughter; The Girls in Their Summer Dresses; The Purloined Letter; Daughters of the Vicar... too many
I like everything by D.H. Lawrence; James Joyce; Alice Munro, Virginia Woolf, etc. etc.
I want to finish some stories that I have started and I want to start some new stories.
My first impression is that by reading we steal with our souls.

Welcome to our group, Anita!
Hi Anita, welcome to the Writers Critique group. Hope to see you at our Nov. 15 meeting, it will be the last meeting this year. Next is Jan 4.
Hi Anita. Welcome to the Strong Voices Workshop. We can keep you focused. Will you be attending tonite, Nov 7? [masked]
Hi Anita... the e-mail went through Meetup, so whatever e-mail you have on file with them is where it went. I had put some good-to-know info in it, so if you would like to get me a different e-mail I can send it to you again. Many of us already have reserved dinner seats so will be sitting up front, but there will probably be others coming in later for the show only, and you may be able to find them further back in the bar area. Hope that helps.
Om Namah Sivaya Blessed Anita,
Welcome to the Portland Sivananda Yoga Meetup! Wow, I am excited to hear you are planning to do the Teacher Training Course and move to Portland! Sivananda Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. Good luck with your move.
Om Shanti!
