iOS Breakfast Coding Time

"Start small, think big. Don’t worry about too many things at once. Take a handful of simple things to begin with, and then progress to more complex ones. Think about not just tomorrow, but the future. Put a ding in the universe." — Steve Jobs

Come to this meeting to learn about, discuss, and get better at the brass tacks of iOS development and using Xcode.  The only way to become insanely great at something is to practice your passion and people that come to this meeting are genuinely passionate about creating insanely great, cool iOS software.

Get energized by a power breakfast and then get down to some power coding. Bring your issues, challenges and problems. You'll find folks with coding, graphics and other key skills that will gladly share to help fellow iOS-ers knock down the various roadblocks that inevitably pop up. We welcome all skill levels from novice to pro. Bring your project notes and MacBook, because we're going to write some Xcode-awesomeness!

This meet-up is very casual and does not go by any agenda. Although it starts at 8 AM, you can come any time before noon. Time spent here is for your project. The more time you put in the faster it will be out on the App Store. You'll find us sitting at the "Xcoders-Xtable" at Panera Bread restaurant in Newport off of 73 FWY and Bison (or MacArthur) http://www.yelp.com/map/panera-bread-newpor...

Happy iOS-ing!

NOTE:
we welcome all new members and non-coders!!! However, we do recommend coming to our "First Tuesdays" meetups. Non-coders coming to this meet-up may feel slightly lost as the discussions focus on technical issues related to writing code for iOS devices. If you come, please bring your Mac and get ready to write some code! Otherwise, please come to the Tuesday Night for broader topics, general discussions and fun.

FYI John, Rudy, James, et al. Our UIView CA animation was not working when invoked from a GCD queue. I boiled it down to a simple test, and the test runs perfectly as expected. This means there must be something funny about the actual code that is killing the animation. We will have to dig into it next week to figure out what is going wrong.

For the record, here is the test case:

Guys, was just reminded to note a couple of very helpful resource sites: besides raywenderlich.com and mobiletuts.com I've also appreciated tutorials on appcoda.com.
BTW Rudy, not sure if you've checked these out before but AJ introduced me to Mixamo for easily animating 3d models (bonus: integrated with Unity 3D) and Blender which is apparently not as easy to use but IS open-source.

I ended buy buying a license of Spine 2D before they upped the price again to $130. Test export to JSON and PNG animation frames set, both worked well, modified an animation of the dragon flying and biting at the same time. So far everything work, no bugs or anything. I'll try to do do a running cow animation with Spine2D before next week if I can.
