ARE YOU READY? The season is almost here, and it's only one month until the first trip to Mammoth! It will be the first weekend in December (4th - 6th).

The Plan
Friday Night: On your own (I will be there by 4pm to check us in and hand out the key to the first member that arrives for that condo)
Saturday Day: Ski/Snowboard
Saturday Night: We usually have a mixer in one of the condos on Saturday night which is BYOB and maybe a "chip-in" for take out (pizza or the like). Afterwards, it's usually off to Whiskey Creek, where we dance the night away.
Sunday: Check-out is by 10am. One person in each condo needs to be designated as the one to return the key to the main office. Most people check-out early and Ski/Snowboard for the remainder of the day.

We are planning on staying at the Chateau de Montagne. These condos have 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and will sleep up to 10 people. The type of beds in each condo is different, but the choices usually include kings, queens, twins, and bunk beds. We do make a rooming list based on friends, or if you are a single or a couple, so once you are paid in full, you may select your choice of bed (i.e. a twin instead of a bunk bed, a queen for you and a friend, etc.).

The bathrooms are for everyone, so get in and get out so someone else can use the bathroom. There are 3.3 people for each bathroom. There is no such thing as a private bathroom on these trips. Sharing is the key word for the weekend!

Okay, so the plan is to fill up one condo at a time. The first 10 paid will be in the first condo, the next 10, will get the next one, and so on. I am only planning on a max of 3 condos at the moment. If the condos don't fill up, the rate of the rental may change to reflect the number of people sleeping in that rental, so please don't be surprised if I have to ask for a few extra bucks to cover the costs. Currently, the rental costs are $70 per person. If we don't get at least 10 people, the minimum I would put into a condo would be 6, where the cost would increase to $105 per person. As you can see, we probably wouldn't want to go below this number because it can become very costly. I've also implemented the use of PayPal to make things easier.

Carpooling: Carpooling is a must. Please, we need people to volunteer to drive since we have limited parking at this facility. If you need a ride, I can try to help match people up, but you know best where you live, the areas around you, and the time you'd like to leave. It makes it easy if you post your request on the event page, either under the comments section or in the notes when you RSVP. It also helps if you make the effort to drive to meet your carpool. As a courtesy to the driver, please be prepared to split the costs of the gas, and maybe even pay for lunch or a drink. This is what makes it affordable to go to places like Mammoth more frequently. Don’t forget to make arrangements for your return trip.

Food & Accommodations: Sorry, but food is not included in this trip. To reduce costs, some members get together and split the costs for meals. Additionally, please keep in mind that your mother doesn't live here, so you are responsible for cleaning up after your own mess. Condos are to be left in the condition you received them in; dishes done and trash thrown out.

Payments: We now offer PayPal! But I need your payment when you sign up in order to confirm your attendance for this trip. I cannot confirm the next condo until I have the payment for the next 10. Please click on the link below in order to make your payment.

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=9363078

** Keep in mind, if you sign up now, but have a problem later, it’s okay as long as we have a replacement for you. You are required to find the replacement in order to get a refund. We will try to help, but it’s ultimately up to you.

Lastly, if you have not done so, please fill out the waiver in the group’s Files folder and mail it with $5 to Nancy Sanford at PO Box 2906, Big Bear Lake, CA 92315. This waiver is mandatory in order for you to attend this trip. The $5 donation helps with the deposits on the condos and any cancellation penalties that we may incur. Any remaining funds will be used for a party at the end of the year.

Thanks everyone! I look forward to seeing you all up there!

Hi everyone,

I have started the OCSS Mammoth Trip weekends with a Dec. trip. Please be sure to get your donation of $5 in to me so you will be on the list for the trips. PO Box 2906 Big Bear Lake, Ca. 92315 for the deposits on the condos - party at the end of the year with the money left if there are no cancellation penalties. Thnks.

After the holidays we will try to have 2 trips a month to Mammoth depending on participation. Dates are tentative but pretty firm at this point - any 2 night trip can be made into a 3 nighter if there is interest.

I will be listing the dates and making them a real posting once I get the prices from the condos. Plus I will be looking at lodging to see what will give us the best lodging for our $$$$$

Here are the rules about this first trip and for most of the other trips - Let me know if you have questions:

Join us for our 1st Mammoth weekend. $75.00 per person based on 10 per unit and some food. Plus the PayPal fee - $75.00 per person is if you pay by check mailed to me 1 week before the trip departure.
If you pay by Pay Pal the amount is $77.55 which includes the Pay Pal fee.
To pay by check: Make out to Nancy Sanford PO Box 2906 Big Bear Lake, CA. 92315. Thanks

CAR POOLING:

You will need to drive and take passengers if you can or make your own arrangements to Car Pool with others. We have limited parking at this first weekend so please get together and car pool or you may have to park your car a little bit away from the condo complex. Parking spots will be given to those taking passengers with them. Thanks.

When car pooling, the driver is doing all the driving, it’s their car and as a passenger you must chip in on the gas, if you stop to eat, go together and buy the driver a meal. They are providing you will transportation to the mountain and you should share costs.

Use the message board early to post if you can drive, how many people you can take, where you will pick up or if they have to get to a certain spot for pick up. Please post your cell number for me and the passengers
If you need a ride you need to call a person who might be near you to car pool with. Set your ride up with them directly. I want to be out of the loop unless there is a big emergency at the last minute and a driver can’t drive.

LODGING: For the Dec. trip only - Lodging for the rest of the trips will be announced soon.

Staying at the Chateau de Montagne condos we will have a 4 bedroom 3 bath condos that will sleep up to 10 people in a variety of beds. There are bunk beds, Kings, Queens and 2 twins in various rooms. Once you are paid in full you may select a twin instead of a bunk bed. But if the twins are already taken then you will get a bunk. If you are a couple, 2 gals or 2 guys willing to share a King or Queen bed. Last year, two brothers shared a King bed and got their own room. After all it’s bigger than a twin and you have more space for your stuff in the room.

I do make a rooming list based on friends, if you are a single or couple and bedding arrangements. Pay in full and get to choose your sleeping arrangements. Thanks for your consideration and understanding about the bedding situation. I have had people get their peeps together and they got their own condo. Then you can assign the beds. LOL.

The bathrooms are for everyone, so get in and get out so someone else can use the bathroom. There are 3.3 people for each bathroom. No such thing as a private bathrooms on these trips. Sharing is the key word for the weekend!!!

FOOD:
Last year for dinner I made Spaghetti, homemade sauce. While it was fun it was a lot of work for everyone who helped. This year it will probably be a pasta, salad and bread. It will be good but easier.  My choice.
There will be some breakfast stuff, instant oatmeal, milk, bread, OJ, sweet rolls, coffee, sugar, creamer. If you want anything else, either bring it or pick up at Von’s. If you didn’t buy it, don’t eat it unless you know its condo food or ask.

LIFT TICKETS:
If I know that at least 25 or more people want to buy lift tickets then I can get discounted rates for us. Last year it was a little confusing so I’m asking that you let me know you are interested, send the money in right away at least 2 weeks out. I will not take orders for lift tickets at the last minute. It’s too messy and confusing. You know you are coming with us – make your decision, pay for them and things will go smoothly. Thanks

Don't be left out - Mammoth rocks. With the early start on winter we should have awesome snow for the Dec. trip.

Email me at nanskii@charter.net or call 714-402-0202 (cell)

If you sign up now but have a problem later that's okay as long as we have a replace for you. You are required to find a replacement for yourself to get a refund. We will try to help but it’s ultimately up to you.
With the great snow expected this season shouldn't be a problem to replace people.

Let me know if you have any questions about the policies, weekend trip, car pooling, refunds etc.

Thanks for your support and participation in our group. You are what makes this group special and fun. Keep up the good work.

Leave your cares and or your significant others at home and trek on up to Mammoth for an estrogen get away!

We can do whatever we want when we want. I rented a small, well located, condo within walking distance of the village and Gondola. You can ski/board when~eva you want and be wild and crazy without worrying about parking or driving home afterward.

The condo is booked for three nights starting Thursday January 21 @ 4pm. Sunday the 24th all must be packed/tidied early as checkout is 10 am. I have room for 6 women.

Important!!!-Please discuss leave times prior as some like to ski on Sunday and some don't. Also discuss how to pay for gas prior with your carpool buddies. Car poolers please make things easy for drivers and meet them in route or at their home. I always board Sunday as it less crowded than Friday.

I will start the carpool talk myself two weeks prior to the event as the guest list will not be set till then.

Yes Wine Tasting Of Course
I was planning on a wine tasting gig like I did a few years ago. Since the winner was an Argentinian wine I thought we would explore that region further. So the theme is "South of the equator Reds." Not limited to South America of course! I am open to all suggestions for fun activities. We usually go dancing one night.

The best thing about this location is that the roads are usually clear up to the condos meaning in all likely hood you will not need to put on chains. But please have them with you in case.

Fine print-I have already paid for the place. The dates cannot be changed. I do not get a refund and neither will you once you pay unless the spot is filled.

The spirit of this event is women enjoying other women's company. Please do not leak info to your mates so they can rent a condo next door and crash everything we do.

This has happened in the past...

If our guys happen to be up there at the same time that is fine but please take this time to spend time with the other women coming that also love the snow.

Also be comfortable skiing/boarding alone as we all may not be on the same level.

I have rented 2 large bedroom, one large loft with 2.5 bathroom condo, Fireside at the Village, which is even a closer walk than the village condo to the Gondola that takes us to Canyon lodge. This is a 3 night 4 day trip, starting January 28, Thursday and checking out on January 31st, Sunday. (All my Mammoth trips are 3 nights)
Depending on how many we can get (the place sleeps up to 13), the price per person would be $150 for all 3 nights if I can get 13 people to fill this place.
I already have two people signed up so three of us are going to take the first bedroom. Kids (12 and up) are allowed on this trip. No dogs or cats allowed.

Condo Description: Two story condo, with elevators to 1st and 2nd floors with underground parking. We get two parking spaces, but unofficially you can park at Whiskey Creek over nights. Lower floor has two bedrooms, middle floor is living room , then upper floor is loft.
