The Baja Hot Springs is our most popular Baja destination and always an adventure. Escape the daily stress of life and relax at Guadalupe Canyon in northern Baja. Easy FUN drive from San Diego. Choose your fun...hiking to waterfalls, rock climbing, bird watching, yoga, explore, off-roading or relax at camp. This privately owned Baja Hot Springs location offers plenty of photo opportunities! Two wheel drive suv or truck needed with high clearance - NO passenger cars. At night, soak in natural mineral hot springs, enjoy the campfire chat and plenty of stargazing. Put down that phone and step away from the dang computer and join us for some exploring in this beautiful remote canyon.

Guadalupe Canyon Guided Trips
November 7-9, 2009
Reservation deadline is Nov.2
$85 pp (due to high campsite fees)
2 nights/3 days primitive Baja tent camping
Carpooling a must (2-3 people minimum per vehicle please)
Share primitive group campsites with private hot tubs and palapas
Caravan: Leave El Cajon area Saturday 7-8am
Return: Leave camp Monday afternoon with border crossing thru Tecate

Caravan Together
Group caravan departs from El Cajon, CA. High clearance 2wd SUV or truck needed for this trip – NO passenger cars. Mexico insurance is a must on this trip – purchase ahead of time at bajabound.com. We drive on highways and then off-road 30+ miles to get to camp! Never been off-roading? We can teach you. Vehicle space is limited in the canyon so we need MINIMUM of two people per vehicle, 3-4 people is better. Car pooling may be arranged with others on the trip. Note: It is 250 miles roundtrip from El Cajon to Guadalupe Canyon. Your fuel mileage could drop by 20% in the dirt and sand. There is an opportunity to get gas on the return route. Directions to group caravan meeting spot will be emailed before the trip.

Please see the camp site
Baja Hot Tub camp site
A few people asked me why $85.00? As you go to this site, this is a private camp site and we are getting a group rate since my friend who is actually leading a trip had dealt with the owner for many years.

First meeting of the 2009-2010 winter season.

Come meet the new people who have joined us over the summer.

Catch up with old friends, talk about the coming season, trips, equipment.

Meet the new assistant organizers who will be helping this year plus our faithful ones from the past two seasons.

Hopefully we will have the Mammoth Rep with us this year - if not she always sends 2 Mammoth lift tickets for me to raffle off. I will also have additional goodies to give away for our kick off meeting. Some lucky person is going to win a $50 certificate to use on any trip this year.

I will be posting the weekend Mammoth trip schedule this next week along with a 4 day to Utah, 4 day to Whistler and I have openings for a 7 day trip with my other ski club to Telluride. Details on the website soon and flyers at the kick off meeting.

We are asking for a $5 donation per person to help fund the condo deposits for the winter for all our trips including Utah, Whistler etc. This can be brought to the meeting in an envelope marked with your name so we can credit you. This slush fund will be used for deposits or any cancellation we get hit with (only once have we been hit). Then at the end of the season we will use this money for a "End of the Year" party. Not a membership fee or not for anything else - the fund will be used and then returned in the form of a party later. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your support and participation - you are what makes this group a success!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you soon

This not so known, nestled in a beautiful canyon above the remnant of abandoned ranch, Willet Hot Spring is located in Los Padres National Forest in Ojai, starting the trail near Lion’s Camp ground which is about 2hrs or 2 hrs 30 min (depending on the traffic) drive from Los Angeles.
Join us (three girls) for this beginner backpacking camp with 9 & ½ miles hike along the Sespe Creek with very little elevation (except just before reaching the hot spring) and is perfect for those who want to try backpacking . If you have done this hike, I really appreciate any feed backs or advice from ones who have done it recently. I haven’t done this hike before so all the information is listed following sites.

Sespe Creek Trail

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0V_CwjaQ9o&feature=player_embedded

We will start around 10 am Saturday 3rd, October from Piedra Blanca trailhead parking lot and hike through the Sespe Creek trail either for 6 & ½ miles until Oak Flat Camp site or continue to Willet Camp site. The hot spring is 0.6 miles from this Willet camp site.
No camp permit required but Adventure Pass required for parking at the end of Rose Valley Road.

To get to the trailhead: Take the 101 North to Venture. Then take the 33 North for 11.5 miles to the city of Ojai. You will turn off the 33, but only in order to get back on it. Turn left on Baldwin Road (Rt. 150) and after a short two blocks make the right onto La Luna Ave. After two miles, make a left to return to the 33. If you miss the turn for Baldwin Road, you can make a later turn to stay on the 33. Continue on Route 33 for 13 miles as the road enters the Los Padres and climbs up the mountain. Turn right at the turnoff for Rose Valley(6n31) on Forest Route 5N24. Drive past Rose Valley Falls and Middle Lion Campground, taking the road 5.6 miles till it ends at the Piedra Blanca Trailhead parking lot.

For those who hate the climbing up the hill, why not take an easy ski lift up to the top of the Snow Summit in Big Bear and enjoy the view and easy ride down the hills. There are also challenging trails for those who love to torture themselves.

Meet us in the front of ticket sales area at 11:30 am and depending on who wants to go which trails we will meet for picnic for light lunch or snacks on the top area where we can see the lake. If you have never done mountain biking, you are very welcomed. There is a rental available so you don't have to bring your bike either.
You can check this out at the Snow Summit site. Don't forget to bring your sandwich, water, and sun screen.

We have been invited by several other lively meetup groups to participate in this fun get away weekend. Meet some new people while partying, dancing and having the time of your life.

Join other singles (your age) + some couples too for a fabulous weekend cruise to Ensenada There are great plans underway to make this a spectacular fun party weekend. Surprises, hosted 1 hour cocktail party, games and more.

The cruise ships have great entertainment with Las Vegas type shows, casino, spa treatments, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, workout room, all the food you can eat all weekend, super lounges with music, dancing and more fun as you can stand.

Friday night we will get acquainted, party, dance, gamble, drink (a little) eat, see the shows, hang out and enjoy.

Saturday we arrive in Ensenada early. There are various excursions you can take: ATV riding, golf, wine tasting, trip to the Blow Hole, visiting the town and cantinas and others listed on the website. (see below) Or you can just hang out by the pool on the ship all day.

Sunday we cruise back leisurely all day on the beautiful ocean. Relaxing, socialzing, taking advantage of the many amenities for a memorable time.

We are going to be on the Carnival fun-ship Paradise: www.carnival.com You can look at the ship, amenities, we are in catagory 4B (inside) & 6B (ocean view). Click on the links - sail date, Ship, Paradise, destination, Baja Mexico and enter the site - then click on shore excursions, amenities or anything you would like to check out.

This is a group trip - we have special amenities for only those booking with this group.

Inside cabins are only $366 per person based on double occupancy

Ocean View cabins are only $406 per person based on double occupancy

Don't have a room mate in mind?? We can help you find a room mate or you can pay more and get the room to yourself.
