Walk along the Bay at Crissy Field

Let's take in the spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and walk along the bay 1.6 miles east to the Beach Hut Cafe. Along the way, we'll check out Torpedo Wharf for sea lions, Crissy Field Marsh for birds, and maybe dip our toes on the beach. The walk will end at Beach Hut Cafe.

If you drive, you can walk back to your parking spot. If you take the bus, you can pick up another bus near the Beach Hut.

The walk includes a staircase down to the wharf. I'm not sure how many steps. Maybe 50-70? From the staircase, the rest of the walk is flat on paved and gravel paths.

Bathrooms are at the start. If you're driving, allow time to find a parking spot.

Thanks for telling me, Susan. I'll try to pick more convenient places.

This was very frustrating as we couldn't find the group. We did hike ourselves. There were no signs that said Gold Gate Bridge Pavilion so we asked people. We arrived at 1:11 and didn't see anyone.

Please leave earlier so you don't keep those of us who arrived on time waiting. Ppl who get there early have to stand/wait for a long time, and that's uncomfortable for ppl with disabilities. Also keep in mind that I'm paying out of my own pocket for this group and volunteering my time for ppl like you, so complaints don't motivate me to continue.

This wasn't really meant to be a complaint. Basically, I just didn't want you to think I was a no show.

Sorry to hear that. We were waiting in front of the Golden Gate Bridge Pavilion until 1:10. I pinpointed it it on the map and it's easy to find on Google. I'm not sure how much more clear I can make it.

Fog still pretty thick. If it doesn't clear by ten,I'll skip this one. I've been so looking forward to this walk. One of the hazards of SF life!

I'm not planning on anything in the East Bay, but if you want to lead an event there, I'll post it here.

Do you ever do anything in the East Bay or at least closer to the Bay Bridge or BART? Truth is, it's often too far for me to drive from Pleasant Hill all the way to the Golden Gate area.

Sorry to back out last minute, but my friend's car was broken into last night and she needs to deal with it, and I'm going to hang out with her. Susan, I'm sorry I can't give you a ride today. Hope to make a future event.
