WordPress Meetup - Monday, August 26th - 7 - 8:30 PM

This month, we have a really special meetup. We've asked two successful entrepreneurs (who use WordPress), to speak to our group this month. Quite a few of us use WordPress to make our livings and some of us would like to be in that position.

So Ryan Dobbs and Cory Miller will visit with us about business building and how WordPress helped them get their businesses going. I've also asked them to share their favorite plug-in with us.

I've gathered some bio information from their websites to briefly introduce you to them. Ryan has been podcasting for the last several months. You should check it out - it's called 'Unreasonable Entrepreneur'. He regularly blogs at several of his sites.

Most of us already know Cory Miller, founder of iThemes. He is an author, speaker and blogger on entrepreneurship over at http://corymiller.com.

OKC WordPress Facebook Page Started - thanks to Robert Saunders who started a Facebook page for all of us. Please use the link and like the page and feel free to post interesting/helpful tips for all of us. Perhaps there are some of our group who can't come to the Monday night meetings who would like to participate over there. We hope so anyway!

Bio Information

Ryan Dobbs is a passionate serial entrepreneur. His focus and ability to create businesses that make instant market impact has led to him being a sought after speaker and coach on Disruption Marketing. He is a blogger and podcaster and will be talking to us about business and how WordPress helps him run his businesses.

Cory Miller is a passionate entrepreneur who believes in finding and maintaining work happiness (for himself and others) that aligns with your purpose and plays to your strengths, talents and ambitions, while challenging you to do great things with your life.

Directions: Oklahoma Christian is on the north side of Memorial Road between Boulevard/Martin Luther King & Bryant. After turning into the entrance, proceed to the first stop sign, turn left (west). You'll be on the (only) road that circles the campus and you'll be going to the back of the campus. So when you get to the next stop sign, you'll be at the back of the campus and headed east. Go straight (about a block), after stopping and you'll see the Prince Engineering Building. This is a 2-story building on the hill - the most northern building on campus. Park in the back of the building and you'll see our WordPress sign on the glass door. The meeting room is upstairs - come on up, we have lots of signs posted.

If you'd rather come in the back way, you can take Boulevard/Martin L King to Smiling Hill Blvd (this is about 1/2 mi. north of Memorial Rd.

Turn east on Smiling Hill and go about 1/2 mile and you'll see the iron gate (always open), that leads into OC. Turn right (south) onto the campus. Go till you get to the first stop sign and turn left (east). You'll see the Prince Engineering Building on the hill - the 2-story building. Park in the back of the building and look for the WP sign on the glass.

For those that were interested in learning how to give back to WordPress, here's a good place to start: http://codex.wordpress.org/Contributing_to_WordPress

Seriously though, I'd be happy to help you find a niche where you can give back, if you can't seem to find a way on that page.

I am using Mojo Marketplace to then launch my wordpress site. Does anyone know what to do if a wordpress theme causes a server error? Once the theme is deactivated, the login works.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
