OKC WordPress User's Group Meetup-New Day & Date for July only

Reminder - coming up next week!

Tuesday, July 24th at The Div

7 PM

We'll be meeting on Tuesday, July 24th at 7 PM. This will be our final MeetUp at The Div as they are focusing on youth programs and are not renewing their lease at the current location. Meeting earlier in the month will allow them some cleanup time.

We are excited to be featuring an all iThemes agenda for this month. Cory Miller will be speaking along with some of his team on various WordPress topics and the latest and greatest from our local premium Theme, Plugin and Training company.

Hope to see many of you there.

It was a fun night. I got to meet some new members and catch up with some old friends.

I would comment on the presentations, but that would seem very self-serving.

The carrot cake looked delicious, but I couldn't have any due to my diet. My eyes definitely had a feast though. :)

This was our last MeetUp at The Div and it was fitting that Cory Miller and Chris Jean from iThemes were our speakers.
Cory spoke about the history of WordPress, its increasing popularity and usefulness for businesses today and his thoughts about the future of the software. He likes to stress the simplicity of the software and how it's easy for non-technical people to get WordPress installed and start writing.

Chris Jean showed us both basic and advanced tools he uses for developing themes. These are tools that even casual developers will want to take a look at and add to their toolbox. He went through the basics of browsers and the engines that drive them. He gave out resources for testing our websites in different browsers, developer tools in Firefox and great on-line training resources for html, css & PHP. Here's the link to his presentation - http://bit.ly/NULlhB.
Finally, I want to thank Lindsey Miller, Executive Director of The Div, for the use of their facilities.
