#Hack4Access: Make the web more accessible

This is a Friday night happy hour meant to bring together journalists, technologists and people advocating for greater accessibility online for older residents and those with physical disabilities.

This event is kicking off a weekend hackathon in which on Saturday and Sunday teams will develop projects to work on accessibility, as organized by Technical.ly Philly and Philadelphia Link in celebration of the National Day of Civic Hacking.  This reception is cross-listed here.

There will be beer, light snacks and discussion about ways to make our communities more accessible, including tech solutions and online conversation.

Register for the whole hackathon event here. Find example project ideas for the weekend here.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
