O.P.E.R.A. Seattle is "Outstanding People Enjoying Recitatives and Arias in and around Seattle" ... and we welcome anyone interested in hearing and seeing opera! We are young and not-so-young, newbies and long-time aficionados, audience members and performers ... but we all love opera! Even if you're just "opera CURIOUS," you're invited to join us. This is a great group of people to learn from no matter how much or little you already know!

We started out meeting up for the Metropolitan Opera HD Simulcasts - live broadcasts of Saturday afternoon matinees at the Met in NYC (often followed by lunch to talk about what we've seen and just "meet up"). Mid-season last year, we expanded to TWO locations: we usually have meet-ups at both Pacific Place AMC in downtown Seattle and also the Kent Station AMC. We added potluck/movie nights, sometimes to prepare for an upcoming simulcast, sometimes to just see a great DVD of an opera. Many people have suggested that we also schedule opportunities to see live local events and also to use our group site as a way for opera-lovers to connect.
