Internet Blocking and Filtering in the UK: what could possibly go wrong?
Blocking and filtering of the Internet in Britain is on the rise. Internet Service Providers are blocking some sites by court order. We also have default-on mobile Internet filtering and the 'nudge' censorship of broadband ISPs.
Come to hear about how ORG is trying to bring some transparency to these debates and highlighting problems around overblocking and one-size-fits-all filters.

Aptivate believes in the power of knowledge and communication to alleviate poverty, suffering and conflict, and in the right of every individual to inform and be informed. We collaborate with NGOs to strengthen the use of IT in their programmes, offer impartial advice on strategy, policy, implementation and procurement and build robust, accessible and usable software, mobile and web services. We are experts in low-bandwidth and appropriate technologies and leaders in the field of bandwidth management, improving communications networks.
At #TA3M we will be focusing on our internal open source decision making tool Econsensus: www.econsensus.org and hope to gain some interest from the open source community to help us further it's use as a community tool for effective communication and it's continued development
