This will be a "stop and smell the flowers" hike, with very little climbing. We'll go out along the Longwall Canyon Trail to its junction with the Mayfair Ranch Trail, then turn around and come back. Total distance: about three miles. Total time: two to three hours. No one will be rushed on this hike. You'll have a chance to admire all of the flowers and take all the pictures you want. Docent Dave is a member of the California Native Plant Society. Bring your camera or just enjoy being out in the wilds of Santa Clara County.
This hike is gentle and mostly flat which means it is excellent to just get out and enjoy without being concerned about whether or not the hike will be too tough. Please park in the overflow lot (on up the road just a little bit on the left) and walk on down the road to the restroom and picnic table in the other parking lot and we will meet you there.
Spring is coming!
