Starry Nights in Open Space

You won't find a friendlier group of people than those who put on our astronomy programs at Rancho Canada del Oro. Dress warm, bring a red glow stick or a flashlight with red gel on it, and come on over. The sky is dark and amazing and we will have plenty of telescopes set up for you to look through. This is a very family friendly event as we love sharing our wonder of the night sky with people of all ages.

We start at 7 pm and pack up at 9 pm so please come as close to 7 as you can. When you pull into the parking lot, turn your headlights off to help preserve the night vision of those already present. Use your parking lights and we will help you pull into a spot. We'll get you all signed in and show you where to go to see some amazing things. You are in for a treat!

Hi Teri, we came early and met only one member of the group. Left around 8:00pm because we were freezing but everything was neat and cool! We enjoyed checking all the different telescopes and different perspective of the stars and galaxies. Thank you for organizing!

Hello, this sounds fun. Would like to know if dogs are allowed? -- Thanks

Sorry no dogs. Our neighbor Calero doesn't allow dogs so out of being considerate, we are not allowing dogs right now. But the up side is you may get to see our local bobcat that hangs out in the meadow at dusk :)

Probably not a good idea, it will be dark and there will be lots of people and expensive telescopes setup.
