Film Night @ Human Rights Art and Film Festival

I just got off the phone to the Human Rights Art and Film Festival! WOW they are creating some amazing and powerful stuff.

Tickets are $19 and can be purchased at http://brisbanepowerhouse.org/events/2014/06/03/human-rights-arts-film-festival/

Here is a blurb about the film of choice (because it is about positive change, non-violence and people power)!

Following info came from their site at http://hraff.org.au/event/everyday-rebellion-brisbane

"Resistance and protest against global injustices are not always synonymous with violence, despite what we are often shown in the media. Citizens across the world are rising up in creative solidarity. From the Occupy movement to the Spanish ‘Indignados’ to the Arab Spring and from Iran to Syria to the Ukraine, everyday people are expressing themselves through nudity, performance, silence, sound, creation and community. Everyday Rebellion is a high velocity exploration of the power of ideas and the courage it takes to use the body as a non-violent tool in protest, showing us the infinite possibilities of people power in the imagination of a better world.

Update for film goers who enjoyed the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival & ‘No Impact Man’ film. Here is a crowd-funding opportunity to raise funds for a film by Oscar winning director Eva Orner. The film is Bloody UnAustralian, a feature documentary that examines how Australia went from being the "Lucky Country” to a country that persecutes desperate asylum seekers. This is going to create a very big noise in Australia: the right-wing extremists will go berserk when the film is released and the publicity for the film cranks up. The promo starts…’Something very dark is happening in Australia…’ and ain’t that the truth!
