Beachside Thanksgiving Dinner and Vball at Ala Moana!!

Hey Everyone!

I have been thinking about doing something like this for a long time and I know that a lot our members (like me) left most of their family on the mainland when they moved out to Hawaii.  Thanksgiving was always a big deal with my family, so I figured why not do it Hawaiian style at the beach while playing the game we all love!

I bought a turkey fryer that I can set up courtside while we play at ala moana - it can cook an 18 pound bird in an hour :) My Dad and I started frying our tgiving birds abut 8 years ago and have never looked back!!  Best part is that we dont need a full kitchen to get it done, and I dont mean to brag...but damn is it some good turkey haha!

Anyways, I'm announcing the meetup way in advance so you guys can start getting your plans together and at least you will know there is an option for thanksgiving if you are looking for something to do.  I will bring the turkey, the fryer, a grill, my canopy and a bunch of spices/utensils for us to use.  All I ask is that if you sign up to come please bring a side dish that you would normally find at thanksgiving!!  Let's make this a potluck and work up an appetite playing some good fours games ;)  I think it should be a lot of fun!! See you there!  Three hits!

I'm about 20 minutes behind schedule, just loaded the turkeys into the cooler!! If any of you get there before me, stake out our usual volleyball court by the shower. See you all soon!

Hi everybody! As some of you already know, I am celiac (basically I am intolerant to wheat, barley, rye and kamut). Could you please check whether the meal you are preparing is gluten-free or not? This way you'll know the answer when I'll ask :P
    Thanks!
    Andrea
PS: rice, corn, soy are fine; soy sauce and other sauces often have wheat

I'm bring our 6' long table and I might be able to grab another one from the office if necessary. In my opinion I still think there should be more side dishes/desserts -- there are a lot of people signed up. Looking forward to this!
