I am a Linux hobbyist. I like to learn from and share with others. Having a busy life, I have found it challenging to maintain the discipline to complete online coding courses. Do you face a similar challenge?

Have you ever programmed before? What language(s)?

Python (I'm a total newbe), BASIC, assembly, HTML (hacking at it!)

Why do you want to code (program)?

Build scientific apps and teach children

What do you hope to get from this Meetup?

Be a coder and hacker!

How did you find us?

I founded the group!

Hi, Carlton, I like your idea. I am a Linux hobbyist too. As my programming skill is limited, I like to learn more programming languages by myself. Hope to see you soon.

Hey there! Sorry about the late reply. I did like Codecademy, but felt like there was something missing in the tutorials I was doing. I recently started One Month Rails and it's been awesome.

Hi, Carlton - I'm a hobbyist programmer in Ruby/Rails, and would love to come in as a guest speaker. I teach beginners Ruby/Rails at Noisebridge SF and would much rather do something like that in Oakland.

Hey, Carlton! I'm not a beginner at programming any more, but let me know if you need a Ruby guest speaker any time soon. I think what you're doing is awesome.
