With 6 keel boats, 4 CFJs and a new Multi-hull in charter in Central Basin Marina, we have boats if you do not. Our small sailing school is mostly a non-profit. www.afterguard.net go to classes - youth to learn more about our N/P side. Our for-profit activity helps to support our Non-profit mission. As of April 2008, our new space (moved from in front of Quinn's Lighthouse Restaurant 1 block east. We are now opposite the 16th Ave overpass). The sizable meeting space is very nice indoor spot for evening or inclimate weather Meet-ups. There is also an outdoor area directly below our office that includes picnic tables, BBQs for daytime gathers, April-Oct.
We invite you to the 'Oakland sailing meet-up's' first meeting.
Topics for this meeting: Who is interested in participating in a Dec. Lighted Boat Parade? Theme, an old fashioned Christmas. Don't want to enter/decorate a boat? Do you want to just go for a ride to watch while drinking hot chocolate? Mid-Winter Racing anyone? Sail to Half Moon Bay on a Westsail 42 or as a floatilla? Volunteer sailing to take seniors or youth out on the Estuary or/and Bay? Organizing a mid-winter's night Raft-up dinner afloat over Presidents Weekend?
Expect to spend some time to plot and plan sailing fun each meeting. Also there will be an interesting presentation plus opportunities to enroll in 'insider' classes - not listed on our website - toward becoming better sailors each month.
Don't miss the boat!
