Night Sail - Stars on the Water

As the sun sets, winds often stops, then shifts from on to offshore. The breeze can be warm and gentle or brisk and spirited. Lights of the city come on and boats turn on their running and special purpose lights. The Port of Oakland lights up. All together the lights look like Stars on the Water.

If able to take night shots these are very unique views for the photographer.

If you'd like to get night certified - this is an excellent chance to begin to see and understand what is coming at you in the night.

Adventure and misadventure on a beautiful night. Gave the helm to Alex, newly arrived from a flight from Japan. Pitch dark, tired and totally unfamilar with the unique channel where half is a beach. Did not point out markers just went about getting the main dow with the other two. You guessed it we went aground. What a great team to get out of trouble with. All is well and we were free by our own doing ending up only a 30-45 min late getting in.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
