I couldn't agree more with your shared thought; Perhaps some of it is a way to keep the spirit of experience of the departed spouse's influence, presence and shared joy continue to lead the rest of our lives ?? Like how I continue to keep my parents 'alive' in my life ...

Each experience is unique perhaps and in sharing it with all of us, we may be honoring the departed in some way ?!
