Welcome to the weekly informal Point Isabel Meetup of the Oakland German Shepherd Group!

In the interest of providing members an easy spot to meet regularly, we are offering a weekly informal Meetup at Point Isabel.
Kari Jo will not be in attendance (Meetup automatically RSVP's me), this Meetup is simply a way for members to coordinate their weekend plans so their GSD can have some playtime with other GSDs, even if they can't make the hikes or other Meetups.

Please be sure and RSVP if you plan to attend, as your Yes is likely to encourage others to show up as well.

This Meetup is ALL BREED. If you plan to bring along another canine family member, please remember to include a note in your comments box to alert others. If you know your GShep has issue with a breed already RSVP'd yes, please respect the safety of that dog and sit this one out. Thanks!

Lush grassy fields, trees, benches, bathrooms, complimentary poop pick-up bags, water fountains (for people and dogs), ample parking, tons of dogs, loads of space, and great views make for a real Doggy Disneyland! There's a nice cafe to get coffee or a snack and even a dog wash. (Make your wash reservation upon arrival to ensure you get the desired time upon your departure!) The terrain is easy, flat and paved for much of the park. It's suitable for all levels of fitness. This is a partially enclosed region, so if your dog is an escape artist you'd want to keep him on leash.

Meetup Location & Route: Members should congregate in the grassy field adjacent to the Cafe before heading off on their walk at 11:00am. I encourage the group to keep a meandering but steady pace as you walk through the fields of Point Isabel. Please remember to be mindful of other park visitors, as we want to ensure our GSDs continue to be good ambassadors for the breed.

Reminder: Please be mindful that we are often a very large group of rambunctious rowdy gSheps! Let's be considerate of other park goers by following some guidelines at this busy weekend space to ensure other visitors to the park have as much fun as we do!

• Do not congregate in the middle of walkways, paths, near heavy traffic spots
• Pick up after your pooches
• Intervene quickly and pleasantly if your pup starts to get into any trouble
• Don't be afraid to politely ask another member if they would like your help getting their GSD out of trouble or back under control if it looks like they need assistance
