The Oakville Newcomers’ Club welcomes women that are new to Oakville, from all walks of life, to meet new friends, socialize and have fun doing the things you like the most! We meet every month for a social get together.
The club also offers many different interest group activities that meet at regularly scheduled times, such as:
Book Club ~ Gardening Club ~ Morning Coffee ~ Fitness /Walking ~ Musical Concert Night ~ Lunch Bunch ~ Mums and Tots group ~ Nature Walk ~ Movie Night ~ Quilting Club ~ Lawn Bowling ~ Euchre ~ Newcomers in Business ~ Meditation ~ Wine Appreciation (couples) ~ Pub night (couples)
New interest groups form as interests change and the need arises.
If you are new to Oakville and haven't lived in the area for longer than 3 years, then join us for a try on the second Tuesday of every month from September to April at 7:30 p.m. at the Sheridan Residence & Conference Centre, 1410 Trafalgar Road, Oakville.
Please Read the directions to get to the Sheridan Residence & Conference Centre as this facility is inside the campus but separate from Sheridan College:
From Trafalgar Road, turn onto Ceremonial Road (not Sheridan Way, the northern entrance into Sheridan College but the south one heading towards the Residences). Proceed forward toward the large reddish residence building until you come to a round-about. At the round-about go 3/4 of the way around and head towards the back of the building. As you drive around it starts to look a little deserted but keep going! As you reach the back of the building you will see a large car parking area. It says "Residence Parking” and has barriers in the up position. Go into this parking lot. You don't have to pay and the barriers will stay up! Our meeting room is the one with the double glass doors. We will have signs up to guide you! If you need to ask Sheridan Staff about our venue, please ask them where the Students Residence is. They might not be aware of the Oakville Newcomers Club.
