Very friendly group, and good conversation. While we have had to agree to disagree on some topics, I never got the feeling that anyone disrespected anyone else for their viewpoints. My only complaint is that there were several interesting conversations going on at once, and it was difficult to pick just one to concentrate on.

Nice group, nice people. The host was good at making sure to catch me coming in and welcome me to the group and find a suitable place to sit.

Great food, great hosts, great people. It's not often that I find all three in one place!

The Meetup Group was a very friendly bunch of folks. Here I was, an outsider coming briefly from Los Angeles. I was made to feel at home. I left feeling I had begun some serious friendships that might endure. It was a good feeling. I can envision my returning to Dallas sometime just to visit with my newfound friends:)

Mike Rael on Oct 28, 2007.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

     A smart, fun group.

    Gina on May 7, 2007.

People tend to use the argument "Well, Ayn Rand said..." which is something I doubt she would like to hear. They also have a tendency to confuse objectivism with selfishness. Well, no one's perfect, just having a place to talk about this stuff makes it worth going!

Nathan Davison on Nov 7, 2005.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

     Good opportunity for discussion.

Richard Parker on Oct 22, 2009.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

With the world sinking toward the altruist/collectivist/tribalist abyss this group and their like-minded bretheren are our only long term hope.

    Doug V on Sep 14, 2009.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

If you like the subject of Ayn Rand's philosophy practically applies, then join up.

Jeremy Grassman on Jul 30, 2009.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

It's the best place in Dallas for rational thinkers to be. Objectivism provides the only non-contradictory moral defense of capitalism and individual rights. You can learn about it here. Furthermore, it is just plain fun.

Scott Connery on Jul 19, 2009.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

Objectivism is the most important philosophical work being done today.

Jay McGee on Jun 22, 2009.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

     Good group.

    Sherry on May 9, 2009.

I can't endorse this Meetup Group highly enough. If you enjoy stimulating conversation about something more than the weather...this group has that in spades.

Eddie Allen on Mar 20, 2009.

If you are looking for a local society centered on Ayn Rand's works and Objectivism, please consider joining us!

"Old Toad" on Mar 8, 2009.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

This is a great way to meet for just a couple of hours and talk to other Objectivists, which is a rarity in my life. I really enjoyed the discussions.

Tracy Menefee on Dec 8, 2008.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

Do you like people who understand that faith and reason are opposites? Do you value the occsional superstition-free zone? Do you support Liberty for individuals and strict limits on the use of force? Is your rational well-being at the top of your list of values? Have you questioned the concept of altruism? Do you enjoy socializing with others that share these views? Every "yes" points to this group.

Geoff Adams on Nov 23, 2008.

Kelly McNulty Valenzuela on Aug 11, 2008.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

There's a good mix of people for everyone interested in Ayn Rand or Objectivism. The meetings combine fun activities with good discussions.

Chad Henson on May 17, 2008.

  • North Texas Objectivist Society

I have had disagreements with certain members, but as a whole the group's rationality brightens my days and engages my mind. Not much is better than that.

  •  If you think there could be a place for philosophy in your psychic makeup, but most you've heard sound like a steaming pile, you should pursue investigating objectivism. If you want to meetup with a fun group just North of Dallas to discuss your ruminations in an engaging manner checkout NTOS.

Weston Moore on May 29, 2005.

  •  Fun, relaxed atmosphere. Nice, interesting folks.
