NTOS: 150 Members and Counting! (Actually, 158.)

To all,

I am pleased to announce a milestone in our growth: We have reached 150 members! Actually, we have reached 158 members. But we have been adding new members so fast that I completely missed timely sending out the announcement of the milestone at 150.

Since January 1, 2007, in just the last 10 weeks or so, 29 people have signed up to express interest in the North Texas Objectivist Society! We are working to build a critical mass of core membership to help us have a local society centered on Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism and reason.

Keep in mind that some of our members have brought spouses, some have brought children, and some have brought friends to visit with us. So our group is larger than our membership list.

Let's always warmly welcome our new members and their welcome guests to visit us whenever convenient.

The North Texas Objectivist Society offers us a place to visit for society and fellowship based on rationality.

NTOS also offers us a vehicle to start changing the world around us: We are trying to be a beacon to others who might be interested Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism, the only philosophy for living that is based on reality and reason, not faith and force.

By spending time together and with our visitors, we have the opportunity to discuss and persuade each other and each of our visitors toward better reasoning. We have the opportunity to reinforce our values and show that it is possible to live by the philosophy of rationality.

NTOS also offers us a choice: to support these values ... or to do something else. What are we doing in the marketplace of ideas to promote reason -- while the marketplace is still open?

Remember, for example, it is not too late to sign up for our Dr. Bernstein event this Saturday, March 24, 2007 at a local hotel conference center! Please help support our events with by attending whenever you can. You can always see our upcoming events and RSVP at http://aynrand.meetup...

We had our third movie event to go see the movie the "300," which was vaguely inspired by the Spartan stand at Thermopylae, and we plan to continue having movie events from now on.

We also have a very active message board for our small group. It seems we are enjoying posting with people that we may be able to meet in person. If you are curious, please check out our message board at http://aynrand.meetup...
