2nd NTOS Symphony Event! Bass Hall, Ft. Worth - Sat. Oct. 9, 2010

Old T.
Group Organizer
Dallas, TX
Dinner and then Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra performing at Bass Performance Hall in Ft. Worth!!!

Concertmaster Michael Shih takes the stage to perform the beautiful Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. This musical celebration honors the 300th anniversary of the 1710 Davis Stradivarius, which has been on loan to the FWSO since 1981.

Brahms - Academic Festival Overture
Mendelssohn - Violin Concerto in E minor
Hindemith - Symphonic Metamorphosis
Rimsky-Korsakov - capriccio Espagnol

As a point of interest, maybe, to someone, our own Pytheus studied composition with Luigi Zanenelli, who studied with Gian Carlo Menotti, who studied with Rosario Scarlero, who studied with Johannes Brahms. :)

At any rate, the Overture will be warmly received, the Mendelssohn is considered by some as the greatest violin concerto ever written, the Hindemith is,'s 20th century, and the Capriccio is very exciting.

This should make a nice contrast to discuss afterward as well as providing a really nice, exciting concert.

$11-$79 depending on your choice in seating. Dinner. BYO$ :=)
