We are temporarily changing our meeting place to a private residence - noted above - due to spotty attendance.

Anyone wishing to attend MUST contact  me first: Evan Stover - [masked],[masked] ... if there is no one able to come to the Meetup on any particular Thursday IT WILL BE CANCELLED.

There are many things happening in the Hudson Valley and elsewhere, and a number of groups active in Occupy-related areas. As the weather warms up we are looking to reform and reconnect. We are discussing the direction we wish to go in and how to be most effective in helping to bring about the necessary changes to our local, state-wide, national, and international political, economic, and social structures in creating a more just, equitable, sustainable world for all.

We welcome anyone at any time who wishes to put their energy towards this conversation, but we are not here just to talk!

(We are NOT a front for the Democratic Party, by the way, so while anyone is welcome, we do not feel that partisan, non-inclusive talk is of benefit towards finding solutions which will work for the vast majority of people on this planet.)

We DO wish to look at both the widest possible view of our current situation as well as issues at the local level, because each affects the other, clearly, and change does not happen in a vacuum. It is normal to feel as if nothing we ever do will matter in the grand scheme of things, but history shows us that this is obviously not the case. However, it must be recognized that real change only came about because the masses of people came to have a new understanding, and technology has given us the ability to speed that shift up many, many times over. Let us come together and help the new world be born: what have we got better to do???

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
