Tell us about yourself and your sea paddling experience including wet exit experience with a sea skirt.

Passionate sea kayaker, who has paddled in areas of Lake Superior, Erie, Orcas Island, the Everglades and 10,000 Islands, Florida's ICW, Tampa Bay, Sarasota Bay, and Gulf of Mexico. I prefer open water but also enjoy a quieter paddle with the opportunity to chat and get to know others in the group. Comfortable with wet exits and self and assisted rescues.

While we welcome beginner kayakers and want to encourage those seeking sea kayaking learning events and experiences are you OK with being being excluded from events (for safety) based on your beginner status?

I'm a strong, experienced, intermediate kayaker, though I continue to practice and learn more on every outing.

Describe your sea kayaking gear including whether you have access to a boat. Include PFD, spray skirt, wet suit and any other gear you will bring and use for outings.

Epic 18x sea kayak; Epic v10 Sport surf ski; Necky Looksha 12' for rivers; wood Greenland style Merganser, which I'm slowly refinishing. Just bought a Perception Caretta tandem for the 300 miles in 8 days 2015 Everglades Challenge. I have all the gear, including VHF radio, tow line, deck light, helmet, first aid kit, flares, repair kit, dry suit, GPS with maps for areas I paddle, pogies, paddle float, compass, etc.

Have you paddled on Lake Erie? If so, where and how far? There is no wrong answer to this question.

Yes, to and around 16 of its 32 islands. Have paddled 54 miles on Erie in a 48 hour period. By mid-summer, I'm good for 25-30 miles in a day.

Is your profile picture an identifiable head shot of YOU and ONLY you? If not, you will be declined.

I have been sea kayaking six years, love wind and waves and, while enjoying each outing to the hilt, I also use each time on the water to practice and reinforce what I've learned, so I am always becoming a better and safer paddler.

What Libby is saying about this Meetup Group

Four of us did this paddle and it was definitely for experienced Kayakers as we ended up crawlin' to the crib. Inside the break wall water is calmer.
