Seal Beach Clinic - repeat

Swim Clinic Class 2

This beach is very calm. We will meet at the pier, right where it starts at the street. The pier is on Ocean and Main. There is street parking around but it is mostly limitted to 1 hour. You can park in the beach lots for relatively cheap, 5 bucks, I think. Cash not needed in the machines, they take card.

In the clinic we will practice reading the water and I will give you some instruction in the open water as far as dealing with chop and open ocean conditions. We do a few "ins and outs" and then we will do a swim and you will have the opportunity to exit at anytime. I swim at the back so no swimmer is left behind on their own.

This will be a good beginning beach swim. The water should be calm but it is open ocean so there may be small waves. This is one step up from Bayshore. You need this kind of thing to get used to the open water and to acclimate. Come out and enjoy a different beach with different conditions.

I will be there at 8 for anyone who wants to come out and swim with me, no clinic. So for this meetup the free swim is at 8 and the clinic is at 9.

Note:
Although the organizer goes to all lengths to ensure the safety of participants, when you come to these meetups you agree to take responsibilty for all risks involved and agree that you understand these risks.

Thanks for the coaching! Much more successful for me than I expected at first...the panicky thing is hard to beat, but I DID it!

Thanks Dave for the wonderful informative clinic today! Swimming in the ocean is a lot different than swimming in the pool, a little more tiring but easier than I thought it would be! I plan to go again!

I am curious about this too. I may just rent one from Tri-Zone.

I will probably only be out there for the instruction phase due to time constraints, but I'll be playing it by ear.

Can I take my kids to this clinic? They are 17, 13 and 9. We surf every weekend and they are pretty comfortable in the waves with their board but they need to work on their swimming. Thanks

Yes but you will have to assume responsibility for them of course.
