Odds and Ends: Dylan Practice Band - NYC 5.00 5.002

This group is geared to musicians who greatly admire and enjoy the music of His Bobness. The goal is to create a relaxed setting for players and singers of ALL SKILL LEVELS to get together, learn new songs and play familiar ones with others who share the same passion. All kinds of musical instruments and voices are welcome. CHECK OUT ALL OF OUR PAST SETLISTS IN THE "FILES" SECTION OF THIS PAGE.

The three main requirements to join this group are:

1) You are patient, willing and comfortable playing with other musicians, some of whom will be much more advanced than you and others who will be much less so.

2) You accept the guiding principle that any instrument/voice is better than no instrument/voice.

3) You think Dylan is the greatest.

Meetups will take place both and indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. The music we play will be genuine grade-A Dylan originals and anything that has similar musical DNA. As you know, the branches of the Dylan genetic tree stretch far and wide, so there is a vast repertoire available - just about all of American music and much more!

If you're getting tired of practicing at home on your own and want to "take it on the road", this group is for you.

Want to attend?

It's time for another Odds and Ends jam session. Hopefully, a lot of you can make it this time. We've had a bunch of fun ones -- playing great music in a relaxed environment (check out the prior "set lists" in the Files Section of this meetup page).

Since it's now too cold to play in Prospect Park, I will host this event in my apartment. Read more

“Bob Dylan's words and musics are running through my brain like cocain. "Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son? . . . Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter, . . . But I'll know my song well before I start singin', . . ."”
