Come join one of our dedicated volunteers to explore the beauty of the preserve in early October. The preserve is filled with several trees and plants that change colors in the fall. The colors of the sumac, sassafras, goldenrod, and asters can be breathtaking in early October. The hike will be easy. It is best to wear hiking boots or tennis shoes as well as long pants. This will be the last official nature hike at Kitty Todd for 2012. We hope you can make it.
Is there a naturalist in the group who can identify what we are looking at? Will that person be able to tell the story of why the sand dunes are present and what botanical changes came about because of them? How long will we be hiking?
