Very good outing. Got good shots. Definitely better than a zoo environment. Good lighting except when the sun came out which made the lighting harsh.

Much nicer than photographing in zoo conditions, the birds were tolerant (mostly), the lighting was good, and the people friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this if you love birds of prey and want to get up close and personal. I did, on the smaller birds, wish I'd brought my[masked] zoom, 200 was fine, but just not quite enough for my usual "in your face" close-ups. I might do it again, just to get those shots and see the birds again.

Weather was better than expected, the birds were great, and I imagine everyone got some great shots.

I don't know if it will still be there by Sunday, or if they will let you view it, but a friend of mine had them come and rescue a baby red shoulder hawk that had gotten out of the nest. Raptor, Inc is currently checking it out and plan to return it to the nest soon. Sure hope you get to see the cute little guy!

Just curious for anyone that has been to one of the Raptor Shoots before; what lenses did you find work best? I am wondering if I need anything more than my 70-200. I don't want to carry stuff that I won't use. Thanks

70-200 is perfect! You don't need anything else
