I contacted them and gave my information and still haven't received a check either.

    November 2

  • Ina

    I have not yet either.

    I have not yet

Yes, I received payment a few weeks ago. Right after Rick said to contact the guy at Maple Knoll I called him and gave him my info. Evidently one of the volunteers threw away the paper we filled out for our art so they didn't know who sold what. Call them.

    November 2

  • Shannon O.

I see Rose Bradley posted this question a couple weeks ago, I came in here to ask it myself. Has anybody who sold at Maple Knoll this year gotten their check yet? I have not.

Has anybody who sold at Maple Knoll gotten their check yet?

    October 15

    • Vickie V

I have not received a check, but they are famously slow, so not worried. Also, there was some issue with MapleKnoll having lost our contact info and needing to have that info given again. I received an e-mail specifically asking for that info, and relayed it to them No problem :~)

      1 · October 15

    • Rose B.

They asked for my info too, so I did reply. He made it sound like checks were on their way, I was just making sure mine had not got lost

      October 15

  • Amy O.

I just spoke with a lady at Maple Knoll. She said that Rick came and picked up all the leftover prints. Rick, could you please let us all know where, and when we can get them from you if this is truly the case?

    Thanks a bunch!
    Amy

    October 14

    • Amy O.

Rick, thanks do getting all the leftover photos. I would like to set up a convienent time and place (for you!) to pick mine up. I don't even mind if it's left outside on a dry day. I could simply swing by and grab it. Let me know what works best for you!

      October 15

    • John Q.

Rick, thanks for the effort. I just got back from a trip but can likewise pick it up whatever arrangement is convenient for you.

      October 15

  • Amy O.

Pickup of photos is an issue because some people did not pick up...It does not have to be an issue if people could refrain from being nasty. I missed that bit of info, and was simply asking if it was still possible to get my photo back. After this is resolved I will no longer be part of this group. I feel like there is a lot of power play by some members, and have no interest in being part of it any longer. This is supposed to be enjoyable but when everyone feels like belittling others then in stops being fun and just becomes annoying.

    October 15

    • Rick

You will have to refer me to the nasty comments Amy. I'm not seeing any.

      October 15

    • Rick

Don't know what you mean by "power play" either. Please explain the who and the what that are involved in power play.

      October 15

  • Amy M. F.

Just wondering about all the photos that did not sell...how and when do we go about retrieving the art?

    1 · October 14

    • Amy O.

I will let you know if I hear anything John :)

      October 15

    • Rick

The information is on the event meet up for the show, on the message board, in every email I sent out to all the participants, and still in the same place it was originally posted. I have taken my time the day before leaving on my trip to go and retrieve your images so that they would be safe. If you want them you will have to contact me when I come back to town. That will be in several weeks.

      October 15

  • Eugenia M.

I am not sure why pickup of photos from Maple Knoll is suddenly such a issue. It was stated in the initial info from Rick and repeated. It was also in the info on site at Maple Knoll.

    1 · October 15

    • Rick

Thank you, Eugenia. It was emailed on several occasions and the web page with the information is still available as are the links to it on this and several other pages. There is no reason for anyone not to know what the instructions are for pick up.

      October 15

  • Dennis C.

As to Rick's comment about finding a new place--did he mean for this Wednesday or permanently? Let's to throw the baby out with the bath water.

    October 14

    • Dennis C.

I can see that but overall, has Sorrento's treated the club well? This past month only about eighth people showed up for our meeting--maybe the restaurant owners didn't think that few should override a larger crowd. If that's been the only negative issue, then maybe we shouldn't jerk the knee so quickly. But most of you have been around longer than I, so I'll leave it to the seasoned vets.

      October 15

    • Rick

The room is scheduled to be reserved for this club every third Wednesday of the month and the owner, which is his right, saw fit to give our night to some one else. This is the second time he has done this since we started there less than a year ago. I personally don't like this sort of disrespect and I will be actively looking for a new place.

      October 15

  • Ina

How does it work for those of us who sold their photos? How do we get the money?

    September 9

    • Dennis C.

Unclaimed money is all diverted to me.

      1 · September 15

    • Vickie V

I f work is sold, Maple Knoll sends you a check in the mail with their commission already deducted. The check goes out a few days after ending of show.

My piece should be hung lower. It's smaller and can't be seen from its current location.

    July 29

    • Connie

I was wondering about the way some of them were hung. Maple Knoll does that, not the OVCC. Also, some were sold and were gone long before the show was open, and they didn't adjust the ones that were there--just left blank spots.

      1 · September 15

    • Vickie V

They generally don't let the sold pieces go until show is over...don't know why some were gone by opening night???

      September 15

  • Amy B

Congrats to all who have sold so far.

    July 29

  • Mary B. T.

Wow we sold a lot of art ! I am pleased that mine sold. Thanks Connie for the update. You made my day.

    1 · July 29

    • Connie

Oh, good. I couldn't remember off-hand what had been sold since the first night. I had my iPad with me this time, so I was better prepared. We still have over a month to go so maybe a few more will be sold.

      July 29

  • Connie

I was in the Springdale area yesterday and finally got a chance to stop by and see the exhibit. It looks great. I also noticed that Vickie V.'s peacock print had been sold. I don't think I heard mention of that as one sold on opening night, so I guess that has been since then. I can't remember whether there were any more new ones--sorry, I should have made a list!

    1 · July 8

    • Connie

Update: I was in the area yesterday and dropped in again. Here is the list of the ones that were sold. Also, the last one was removed from the wall, so I am thinking that someone who purchased it needed it before the exhibit ends.

      Shannon O'Connor, Tea
      Mary B. Thompson, The Wave
Sophia Ziburtovicz, The Winter of Our Discontent
      Ina Kratzsch, Cincinnati Skyline
      Vickie Villavicencio, The Peacock
      Rose Bradley, Meadow Visit

Wonderfully organized. This years entries are fantastic. Great to see more artists and fresh ideas. It was so good to mill around and talk with other photographers.

It was wonderful to see all the photographic artists' works. OVCC has so much talent!

    1 · June 20

  • Eugenia M.

A Maple Knoll resident who said she was an artist, and while living in New Mexico, she had her own art gallery, told me that they love it when OVCC has an exhibit. She said the OVCC exhibit is the best exhibit they have, and they look forward to having come to their facility.

    6 · June 20

    • Rick

Thanks for mentioning that, Eugenia. I have been told that on several occasions. It makes it all worth doing.

      June 20

    • Sophia Z.

That's a wonderful comment, Eugenia, especially coming from a person who owned an art gallery in New Mexico!

      June 20

  • Rose B.

It was great to see so many people turn out last night. Wonderful meeting some of the photographers and hearing about their work. I was excited when someone came to the table and told me my photograph sold. There were a lot of amazing photos, I really loved "Wyoming Night Sky".

    June 20

  • Larry F.

Lots of fantastic images at show last night. Seemed like a good turn out. Hope everyone has good luck in selling.

Excellent show. Congratulations to all exhibitors. Lots of really great work. A big thank you to Rick and all the other organizers for their time and dedication. What you do for photographers and photography in the area is impressive, important and very much appreciated. It fills a big need.

Hi Rick, just a quick question... This is my first time attending the Maple Knoll Opening night, is this a dress up event?

    1 · June 19

    • Rick

Business casual will be fine. No need to break out the bonnets. See you there.

      1 · June 19

I will be unable to attend the Maple Knoll Opening night. My husband reminded me of another obligation made before the opening date change. Hope everyone has fun and sells a lot of photos.

    June 19

  • Connie

Folks, if you can't figure out my info below about finding the show, just stop in at the visitors' center, where you dropped off your pieces. I'm sure there will be someone there from whom you can ask directions. This is what I did for my first year . . . It's really not that hard!

    June 18

    • Rick

When you enter the visitor's center, hang a left and follow the corridor and you will find it. It's in an area they call Main Street.

      June 18

    • Amy B

Thank you Rick, that is helpful information.

      June 19

  • Shannon O.

The information from MK says the reception is from 5 to 7 p.m., Rick, you're saying 6 to 8 p.m. The important question is, does it open at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m.? I will adjust my arrival accordingly. Thanks.

    June 18

  • Ted D.

    Rick, See you at 6PM.

    1 · June 18

  • Rick

Glad to see such a great turn out for this event. I hope all of you actually make it there. If you have heard that the hours are wrong, they are not. We are in from 6-8 on "Main Street". When entering the visitor's center, go left and follow the corridor. I think there will be signs as well. If you get lost, just ask someone.

    June 18

  • Kim P.

When I dropped off my canvases at the visitors center, I met Jim Hoeh. He said he would be hanging the prints and he told me to come straight into the Visitors Center the evening of the reception and there will be signs to point us to the gallery. It does say on the large postcard that went out to 800 residents in Springfield that the Grand Opening is from 5pm to 7pm. Rick - our instructions here say 6-8pm. Which is correct? Thank you!

    June 18

    • Rick

6-8 is for us. I talked to Jim this morning and he apologized for the mix up. I am not going to change things at this late date.

      June 18

  • Amy B

Is the event in the same building where we dropped off our pictures? The visitors center? If so, can the organizer please add this info to this event? And then where in the visitor center will it be?

    June 17

    • Ina

Ok, ignore my last two posts. After looking at it on google satellite I understand what Conny means. Just follow her instructions. :-)

      June 17

    • Amy B

Thanks connie, I'm sure I'll get lost but will eventually find it :-).

      June 18

  • Peg W.

The event is down further. It is at tthe next entrance & to the back with a large parking lot. From Sharon Road it would be the first entrance and going South from I 275 it would be the last entrance, Good Luck!

    June 17

  • Connie

One year, we had a PDF file for the form to fill out for each piece we have in the show at Maple Knoll. Is this a possibility? I think some people will be taken by surprise with that, especially if they also transport someone else's work as a favor. I did that last year, and I wasn't sure how to complete the form for the other person, plus it took a bit of time--not simply just dropping off the piece--and you have to attach it to the back. I would rather do that at home.

    1 · May 22

    • Connie

      OK, thanks for trying!

      June 16

    • Rick

Well, when I went there today, I mentioned it to the receptionist, and before I got home, it was in my email. Go figure. Guess I've been talking to the wrong person lately.

I don't think I can meet the official drop off day/time... Can I drop off on this weekend?

    June 13

I think you can, but you should call ahead and make sure they have the entry forms available as well. The contact name is Jim Hoeh (pronounced "hay" I believe).

      June 14

Is this reception open to the public? I would like to bring some guest.
