WHAT: A FREE OVCC seminar on CAMERA BASICS presented by Jim Reizner of OVCC.

This seminar promises to be both educational and FUN!

WHEN: Saturday, February 4, 2012. Starting at 11 AM, ending at 1:15 PM (2 hours, 15 minutes).

The seminar will have NO lunch break, so please plan to eat lunch either before or after the seminar.

CLASS NOTES / HANDOUTS

Since this seminar is free we cannot provide free class notes at the meeting - as this would cost hundreds of dollars. The libraries do not allow us to charge for meetings held there or to exchange money on their facilities (including the parking lot).

If you can't open the links given above directly by clicking on them, do the following. On the OVCC home page, directly under the bright red words "OHIO VALLEY CAMERA CLUB" is a menu bar. On the far right of that menu bar is "More." Pull "More" down to "Files." Under "Files" you will see these documents. 

Right click on the files desired and save them to your desktop or wherever. Then open them. They are Adobe Acrobat PDF files that you should be able to open them in any PDF reader.

SEMINAR DETAILS 

This is an introductory course for those new to digital SLR photography, or for those desiring a review of the basics.

Topics covered will include:

•  Lens focal lengths
•  Sensor sizes, crop factors and their effects
•  Perspective
•  Aperture
•  Depth of Field

The primary purpose of this seminar is to give the newer photographer sufficient background for the next more advanced seminar, which will be on “Exposure” and elements related to exposure.  This Exposure seminar will be held on Saturday, February 11, also at the Kenton County Public Library – Erlanger Branch. NOTE: If you are interested in attending the follow-up Exposure seminar you must SEPARATELY sign up for that Meet-up.

The room will be set up with chairs and tables. Cameras are NOT required and will not be used in this seminar (it is classroom lecture style training using Power Point overheads) but if you want to bring your camera that is fine, as we will be referring to various components and features of cameras.

PS: As to the location for this Meet-Up.

West Chester Library was not available. Kenton County Library is free, has great AV equipment, and has always been gracious to us in OVCC.

Finding free accommodations for large groups that also provide free audio/visual equipment is not always an easy task.
