Central Ohio Secular Parents Support Group

Being a parent is not always easy and a one can feel very overwhelmed and alone. With this in mind, the Humanist Community of Central Ohio (HCCO) decided to create this support group. The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where parents can interact with other parents from the secular community and learn from one another.

We will be discussing topics, but you are welcome to ask questions, share your experiences, or suggest future topics.  Children are welcome to attend, please email Johnda at [masked] to confirm ages and number of children attending.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided, but please email ahead of time if you have allergies or diet restrictions. We will be accepting donations to offset the cost of refreshments. Some toys will be provided, but your children are welcome to bring some of their own.

Our first meeting will be on July 28th, we will meet every fourth Sunday from 3pm to 5pm at the Westerville Public Library in the study room unless otherwise notified. The Westerville Public Library is located at 126 S State St, Westerville, OH. We look forward to meeting you at our first gathering!

Hi everyone, FYI, we will be meeting in Meeting Room B this time. Just head towards the sound of me running around with my head cut off and children laughing ;)
Any refreshment requests, I'm going shopping soon.

If parents could bring a list of any topics they would like to see presented to their kids, or topics they would be interested in teaching or leading discussion on, it would be very helpful. There's been some lively discussion online about creating programs for kids, and it would help with that.

Hi everyone, I am very much looking forward to our next Meetup and I do have one topic for discussion that I need to bring up to all of you concerning our September meeting. Please be brainstorming about possible places where we can meet as a group because the two rooms that can accommodate us at the Westerville Library are reserved. No worries about October, we will have meeting room A again.
Also, my priority with this group is to facilitate a space where we as parents can open up about successes as well as struggles and share resources and advice. If there is a topic that you would like to see brought up in our group please feel free to bring it up yourself or if you are not comfortable with that please email me at the address above or message me on facebook.
