Hemlock Cliffs, overnight. Non official trail.

The back side of the official trail has tons of trails that are not on the map, lots of big rock houses, 1 cave that I know of, and an abandon house.

This will be 85% bushwhacking/unofficial trails.  Its a place that not a lot of people have seen. There is evidence of native populations living here for nearly 1500 years.  Its an easy trip, and there is lots of water.

.From I-64 take the IN 237 exit north about 2 miles. The road climbs a steep grade, just before it begins to level off, you are looking for Union Chapel road on the left. Be careful, you may miss this the first time. Turn left at Union Chapel and follow the road to the first intersection, continue left. At the next intersection, continue right. At the "T" in the road, continue on Hatfield road to the right. Look for the Hoosier National Forest sign. Park at the gravel picnic area lot.

You will need a basic backpacking setup. We will camp over night, and head back in the morning.

This trip is cross listed on the Indy Backpackers meetup.

Started off a little damp, but the waterfalls were flowing well. Thanks to Jeannie we all had our fill of wild turkey (the flying type, not the liquid type). A very neat place to visit with a lot of natural features.

Hey guys...so I made an extremely obvious mistake (by using GPS) and got lost in the middle of nowhere. I really need to get a map for my car (and pay more attention to directions that were RIGHT HERE lol). I arrived at about 11:15 and decided to head out on my own:) I camped on this beautiful mossy ridge top above a waterfall. I LOVE this place!

Looks like it's going to be a cold and wet one. Hopefully the last one of the season, yuck. I am still looking forward to this trip:) See you all in the morning.

Is there a water source? I've got a filtration pump. Or pack in what we need?

It will be about 5 miles in to the campsite on Saturday and about 3 miles out on Sunday. We will be roughly following this path: http://www.wikiloc.com/wikiloc/view.do?id=4133689 We will be going counter clockwise as in this link. When we get to the top we will setup camp then go exploring.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
