DnD 3.5?

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • I am not very fond of 4th edition, it feels too much like a video game on paper to me. I don't want to seem pretentious - just my opinion. I have an area to play, depending on times and if you want to make the trip out in the middle of the country in Choctaw. My schedule is not set as of yet, but I know I will be working days about three to five days a week. As much as I'd love to be able to run a Hero system game I know it would be difficult for me to keep up with. I could run a scenario and see, but not as confident as I would be in running Vampire: The Masquerade, DnD 3.5, or even DnD 2nd Edition. I like to have a smaller group, around 4-5 others max. A few extra players who play every once in a while would be fine as well, but know that I will run your character as a npc when you aren't available to play. Don't worry, I would play them to your past roleplay style and specifications. Past gaming groups I have been a part of have fallen apart, due in part to the dm being unwilling to go on because a single player character would not be able to make a session. I think that is silly and not fair to the group as a whole. Here is a little about my style of running things: My games might have adult and/or horror-based themes in them. I don't hold back when a monster or other types of encounters are brought into the equation. I won't go out of my way to kill your character, just don't go running into a great wyrm red dragon's lair alone at 3rd level - without brilliant roleplaying the end result is your character dying. I won't hold your character back just because it might hurt my storyline. I'll guide you to the main storyline, but you don't have to follow it. Epic levels are the end goal, as I like players to be involved in their character and see their characters progress. Here are a few other roleplaying codes I live by: Rules are only guidelines to me, not set in stone. If you come up with a cool class or prestige class and it fits the setting then I will allow it after it is sufficiently balanced. I won't tell you what your character does, but there may be circumstances where your character is not in your hands - please do not dispute when this happens. If you venture into an illithid lair you might end up mind controlled on failed saves. Again, I won't go out of my way to do this to my player characters, but it might pop up. Metagaming is highly frowned upon. If you have questions about what your character would know in game just ask. One last thing, if you try to grind experience you will probably end up dead (particularly if it doesn't fit your character concept). Roleplay your character faithfully and you will be rewarded, I assure you. Like I said, I am a little particular with how my games are ran. Playing in games... I don't really care. So long as you have an interesting idea I will play. That goes for any system. It won't take me long to pick it up if I am unfamiliar. Well I will end this novel of a post and wish you all a happy new year.

I may be a couple years late to the party. Is this still an established thing? (fingers crossed)

More than 90% of this is taken directly from my personal "this is how I run a game" handbook. You still around and need a game ran and/or running a game? I'm in Norman and will bring at least one other great gamer with me. More than one other is a possiblitiy.
