A Meetup Group to discuss, learn and teach the ancient traditions of Shamanic cultures. A general focus on Indigenous cultural beliefs around the world and healing techniques they used.
Shaman are the holy men of many indigenous cultures, and often the mediums between this world and the spirit world. They hold knowledge of the spirit world and heal through this deeper understanding of the physical world. The word "Shaman" came into use in English via Russian, from the indigenous people of Siberia.
Beliefs in Animism are alive in Southeast Asia, Siberia, parts of Africa and South America, where Shamanism is still practiced. It was also practiced by North American Natives (and still is in some places). It is believed to have been practiced by all humans at one time, going back to possibly the Paleolithic era, and definitely the Neolithic era. It was practiced by all people, including Ancient Europe, prior to organized religion.
Members of this group will be learning about the cultural significance of Shaman in their cultures, techniques they use to heal and spiritual beliefs of their cultures.
This group doesn't have any additional upcoming Meetups scheduled.
