I am interested in Computers, networks, electronics, radio, and many other topics.
I am a Systems administrator and have been in the technology support industry for over 10 years. I have extensive experience on enterprise class infrastructure systems as well as home and small business systems. I am not much of a developer but I know enough to know when to ask for help, which is usually at the beginning. I have been involved in developing security plans and implementations at a major 4 year university in the state and have experience working on hardening both endpoints and infrastructure devices.
Just ordered an arduino uno and have a couple of projects in mind for it. I am currently working on building an antenna tower for my radio hobbies. I have also started into the software defined radio world and I am working on building both a receiver only and a transceiver radio setup. These devices combine my computer hobby with my radio hobby and thus get extra bonus points.
I would love to build a cnc machine. I have been interested in machining for a long time and I have had the chance to do a little bit of work on a CNC mill and would love to be able to build what ever I can think up.
Good people, learned discussions, outrageous ideas, geeky fun. What more could you ask for from a group of people? This meetup group hits on many of my hobbies and the people are great about helping when you have a question. With the new space it is really great to see so many new faces and hopefully we will continue to grow. Lots of exciting things coming up. Keep your eyes open and you will see great things from OlyMEGA.

No project blog, but that's a good idea...
Hopefully I'll be able to make it into the space this week or next week. I'm excited to check it out. Is the Wednesday Summer Session an open invitation thing?
Thanks, Jeff! Basically, what I'm doing is lost-wax casting, using patterns I carve under a 30x microscope. Lots of fun, and a good meditative exercise.
Thanks Jeff! It was great to meet you yesterday!
