Every winter I try to brighten a few of those cold dark evenings by sharing a movie together. After a few weeks we culminate with a house party, Sunday February 24th to watch the Academy Awards together. I choose the downtown theater because it is easy to find each other. Remember to dress warm and you can bring your own snack/treats if you have a preference over traditional theater concessions. I hope to include "Les Miserables" before the Academy Awards. Tickets are $5.50 for OFS members and $8.50 general admission.
I am in the planning stages to have an all day "Anna Karenina" festival on Saturday February 2. We would meet in a home and have a potluck and watch the classic 1935 Greta Garbo production and then at 6:30 go to the Capitol theater and see the latest version. Please let me know if that is something that interests you.
Three final items: I will be out in front of the theater until 6:25 please arrive in time to meet up with the group. I have a few $5 passes for those with limited resources. Send me an email at [masked] to request a pass. Lastly, would you be interested in regrouping after the movie at either my house or a coffee shop? You will be asked that question upon reservation.
