The Tacoma Zombie Festival and Preparedness Expo Sept 27-29

The Tacoma Zombie Festival and Preparedness Expo’s newly renamed – QZ CON is a military-focused science fiction convention that combines the popular theme of surviving the zombie apocalypse and old school Rockabilly punk.
This event is intended for the Public Service sector with family-friendly pricing and provides fun, safe activities for children. The “Refugee Camp” military vehicle display is a fun variation on your average car show. The vehicle’s owners set up themed displays and allow people to climb on, in, and under most of their rigs.
With a kid’s zombie hunter costume contest and a children’s zombie walk, we have dedicated kid’s activities from 9 am until 2 pm, and after the kids have been sent to bed, we have The Hot Roddin’ Romeos and Angie and the Car Wrecks in an intimate concert.
In 2012, we dedicated all our profits to Wounded Warriors, and as a first-year event, we were proud to sign over $1247 to the Wounded Warrior Brigade on JBLM. This year, we are raising funds and awareness for multiple veteran’s charities by dedicating a section of the event to free tables for (so far) the VFW and the American Legion with more to be added as the event draws closer. We are also running several raffle contests with the entire proceeds of each
contest going to a designated group.
