What does vegan spirituality mean to you, and how do you practice it?

This is a hard question to answer in a small space! I'm a Quaker, and we look toward the divine light in each person. I believe all types of animals are persons -- all creatures are connected and each life is valuable. How do I practice this? I suppose through as much mindfulness as I can squeeze into the choices I make, which is not to say I always do what's right.

What drew you to this group?

Well, Kathleen. Beyond that, hoping for a group of people who share some of my values.

What would you like to experience as a part of this group? (support, community, comradery)

Support, community, comradery...yes. There are very few people I can talk to about the moral reasons for my dietary choices. I would welcome the opportunity to do that and learn from others. Of course, I'd also just like to meet interesting people and have fun.

What topics of discussion interest you?

Let's talk about this at a meeting. I can imagine lots of interesting approaches to veganism and spirituality!

I've been a vegetarian since 1997 and a vegan since 2015.
