Emily Asher's Garden Party

Emily Asher's Garden Party is a versatile musical ensemble led by Asher's tenacious trombone and sweet vocals. Called "red hot" and "very exciting" by the Wall Street Journal, this band of all-stars from New York City's vibrant early jazz scene performs worldwide in the finest jazz clubs to the busiest swing dance halls. Drawing on the repertoire of Louis Armstrong's enchanting Hot Fives and Duke Ellington's sophisticated melodies to the funky and soulful music of New Orleans brass bands, Garden Party delights audiences of all ages and musical tastes.

i loved the authentic sounds...i couldn't wait to play a rousing rendering of "tiger rag"
the trumpeter is so true to the style...i just moved from NY and would love to hook them up with some of the cats i left behind.

hi emily...your band looks like lots of fun....i just moveid here from New York City and played in Vince Giordanos Nighthawks which is about as authentic as they come...playing original instruments (banjo, huge bass drum, trombone acoustic cone, and bass sax as well as the original stocks from the '20's and '30's)...i even had to sightread bix and louie transcribed solo's
i had so much fun playing that stuff and thought that that kind of band couldn't exist outside of NY.....
do you guys play the stocks or improvise?
i can't wait to hear you
