    Etiwanda Preserve Waterfall:

Let's get moving with a nice hike up to the waterfall. This one will get your blood pumping, as we will be walking up on a rocky dirt trail with a good incline. We can stop at the flatter spots if we need to before getting to the big payoff - the waterfall.  Enjoying the waterfall will make every step worth it, and the return trip is all down hill. On the way back, we'll get a nice view of the Inland Empire.

You can park in the designated parking area or in the area off the street where it is not as rocky. We will meet up by the gate and start walking on the main trail. The total duration will be about 2 hours with a distance of 3.75 miles round trip. Elevation gain: 950 feet.

We'll go slow and steady, and those who want to press ahead are welcome to go at their own pace.

Comfortable hard-bottom shoes are necessary here. Please bring water.

Heavy rain or unfavorable weather conditions the day before or day of the event cancels.

Proceed on Day Creek Blvd 2.2 miles until you reach Etiwanda Avenue.

Thank you to those who have messaged me well wishes about my knee. :) It's an old injury that was never rehabbed properly. Hiking has actually strengthened it, but it tends to get uppity from time to time. I will be back on the trails for our flat, rock-free Santa Rosa Plateau hike on Friday. :) Enjoy this beautiful Monday!

Reminder: Etiwanda Preserve- Hike to the Waterfall, scheduled to occur on Monday, December 30,[masked]:00 AM has been cancelled. Please update your plans accordingly.

Due to an aggravated knee, I will not be able to hike this rocky, uphill trail. I will try to reschedule this hike sometime in the future. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

I have a question for anyone who may know, Who carries the best hiking boots in the Inland Empire? I've blown through mine. Thanks!

HI Don, REI carries a great selection of hiking boots (and other stuff too)! They offer a co-op membership in which members can earn dividends on purchases and they stand behind their products. There is an REI in Rancho Cucamonga.
