Le Tour de Femme is a women's only full metric century, half metric century and fifteen mile bicycle ride scheduled for October 12, 2013 in Cary, North Carolina. Le Tour de Femme is presented this year by Grab My Wheel to Benefit the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the local Angel Fund of Rex Hospital. The ride is going into its seventh year of bringing women from all over the country to fight cancer. The mission of our all women's ride is to raise community awareness and funding for Cancer Research and Cancer Survivorship programs.

If you would like to donate to a particular rider or register: Go to http://letourdefemme.org and click on the link for “Sponsor a Rider”, scroll down a bit to where you can enter a name and then enter a name in full or part, click “search”, look for the section with a list of names and click “click here” to get to their fundraising.

Registration cost is a suggested $50. Minimum.  No fundraising requirements.

All around, a great ride and great event! I think this one is on the "must do" list every year! Thanks for riding with me Angela!

Wonderfully organized and supported ride! A big "thank you" to Carl who rode with us, kept us safe from traffic and helped rescue me after a fall. I really enjoyed this event and can't wait to do it again next year!

Hi all! I am hoping to do the 60 mile ride, but might end up doing the 30 mile ride...it all depends on the status of my bike.

Do most folks wear this year's jersey on the ride? It's so pretty, I'm eager to wear it, but it seems odd to do that unless and until I complete the ride.

Annette, I will wear my 2013 le tour de femme jersey.

I'll be in a Le Tour de Femme Jersey. I am planning on riding the 32 and since I haven't been on my bike lately, it will probably only be at about 15 mph. What is everyone else riding? I'm ready for this great event!

Annette, some years the distance changes because of road construction. I don't know what length the route will be.

I wrote to Ron Hammer a few weeks ago and he responded saying that the wrong map link was posted. The route last year was dramatically shortened due to bridge construction. Yet the map link still shows a route at 54 and change. It's not hard to add a couple miles in at the end, but 8 miles? That's not as easy to do. I'll double-check with Ron Friday night and will plan accordingly if the route isn't quite 62. I know the area around Lake Jordan really well and could easily throw in an extra turn for an additional out-and-back. Pea Ridge Road comes to mind. But I wouldn't want anyone to see me turn and get confused and follow. Yet, after finishing it's hard to go back out and do a few extra miles, especially since we're in Cary where the traffic will be much heavier. Please don't think I'm nuts. For me, it's hard to feel good about accomplishing a goal that I almost-but-not-quite accomplished. :-)

I am doing the 30 mile event as well. My pace is usually an average of 14-16. This is my first 30 mile event. I usually only do 15-20 miles when I practice. Wish me luck :0).

I'm going too and have not decided yet if I'm doing the 30 or 60 mile event. Looking forwarded to seeing everyone!
