Want to have fun outdoors while helping to feed the hungry? Then join us as we harvest fruit (tangelos, etc.) which will be donated to local foodbanks and organizations to feed the hungry! This is a great way to make a difference - as we will be harvesting fruit that would have otherwise gone to waste. The event will be in Costa Mesa and is being coordinated with The Harvest Club/OC Food Access Coalition.
How to participate
To participate, click 'RSVP' and make sure to bring:
- gloves, long sleeves, hat and sunglasses (or protective eyewear)
- sunscreen and bee protection (if necessary)
- closed-toed shoes are a must!
- signed Liability Waiver and Photo Release form. This form needs to be turned in the morning of the event before you begin harvesting.
Where to meet / Food afterwards!
This event will begin at 9:45am at a private residence in Costa Mesa. We will send out an e-mail with the address to all volunteers that have signed up in the days before the event. After the event, we will probably be really hungry; to address this inevitable development, we will go get some food / late lunch nearby!
If there are any questions, please feel free to contact the event organizer, Devendra.
