OMN London - 30th August - Building Brand Communities

Hi people - following on from the success of the last event we're happy to announce the next OMN London event for the 30th August!

We're open to sponsorship offers, so if you want to get your brand in front of 2,000 of London's best and brightest online marketers then drop me a message.

The topic of this event will be Building Brand Communities. With all the current hype in the online marketing world around content marketing at the moment and how brands need to look at themselves as publishers, building readerships, fans and communities is a hot topic. The talks at this event will be looking at case studies, providing insights and giving invaluable tip into how best to achieve high levels of engagement with your or your clients' audiences.

We've three shining stars from the community management world confirmed so far:

Madlen Nicolaus (@madleeeen) - Madlen is Snr Marketing and Community Manager at Salesforce Radian6 and having heard her speak brilliantly before at other events, I'm really looking forward to her insight into building brand communities through her work for the likes of Kodak and now Radian6.

Richard Millington (@richmillington) - Founder and Managing Director of FeverBee Community Consultancy, and The Pillar Summit. Richard is described by eConsultancy's Heather Taylor as being "at the heart of all things community in the UK", and founded the world’s first Professional Community Management course.

Lisa Barnett (@lisab88) - Senior Community Manager at eModeration Limited. Lisa is an online community and social media expert with over 10 years experience in running and managing B2B and B2C communities both from a strategic and operational level. Also looking at how businesses can use social media for maximum exposure. Previously worked in IT journalism for over 10 years so has an excellent grasp of creating relevant and engaging content.

These guys are all right at the top of the community management game, and I hope you're all looking forward to hearing what they've got to say as much as I am!

We'll also be supporting the Building Brand Communities event with a series of related posts on the OMN London blog.

We'll be holding this on HMS President, which is one of the permanently moored ships on Victoria Embankment, and a fantastic venue. There's a bar on board, so everyone will be able to refresh themselves suitably throughout the evening.

I'm a firm believer in the premise of the more the merrier, so please help us to grow this group by spreading the word!

See you there!

There were great speakers and very informative. Even if there was repetition in facts that we know, it is always good to hear that we are on the right path.

To anyone who is excited for tonight, I wrote an article for the OMN blog to tie in with the community management theme of the evening. You can find it here > http://www.omnlondon.com/commun...
Always love feedback, retweets, shares, big ups and boo's.

Asher that comment makes you sound like a lonely zombie ;-) ome and talk to me but keep your fingers out of my brains. I often have to come out of the main room - been to a few of these and do get a little sea queasy - it's a windy day today so no doubt I'll need to keep popping out to see the horizon. Can I copy someone's notes if that's the case tonight? I'll get the beers in.

      I'll do it three times...

Looking forward to this eve's event, hopefully my sea legs haven't deserted me as were bobbing on the Thames. I'm meeting up with a couple of mates but anyone in that 'lonely corner' who wants to say hi and discuss ideas that would be great!

I'm the tall, dark haired country bumpkin sounding Cornishman supping a cyder most likely!

I'm also looking forward to this event - the last one was brilliant! I am however going alone this evening (as my friends could not secure places in time), so if anyone fancies a chat, I'll be the awkward looking one attempting to pick brains!

Matt, you make people feel awkward in a corner. It's differnet.

Seems i can't even spell normal words without fitting 'net' into it...
