Much of my career has been around Object Persistence. Since I first encountered 00 in 1984 I felt that 'application' as such and 'file' and even locked up 'database' were archaic throwbacks. That some day we would get to world where data and or code bearing objects were assembled on demand dynamically. Clearly locked up data silos with limited access capabilities are one of the things in the way of this old but persistent dream of mine.
