Last Minute Meetup - TONIGHT (Monday, 3/4), 7pm, iYo Cafe in Davis Square

Interested in building a community of open government activists in the Boston area? I'll be meeting with some Code for America folks tonight at 7pm at iYo Cafe in Davis Square to talk about how to do just that. Anyone who wants to discuss/brainstorm/plan or just listen in should feel free to come. If nothing else, iYo has amazing frozen yogurt. :)

If you'd like to come but can't make it on such short notice, let me know in a comment. If there's enough interest we can schedule another get together like this with more advance notice.

Thanks to everyone who made it out! We'll definitely do another coffee discussion soon. I'm out of town until April - folks should feel free to get together in my absence, but otherwise I'll put one together once I get back.

Glad meeting wrapped up with examples of 'best practice" case studies in OpenGov

Acknowledging concern expressed about unintended consequences, would love to see more examples of "best practices" as well as examples of matching needs with volunteers. Thrilled that the meeting ended with tangible suggestion: MONTHLY NEEDS ASSESSMENT
Monthly MeetUps to update possible OpenGov projects based on community needs

If anyone is interested in real estate related projects, and including possible ways to crowd fund hackers as well as "ordinary" homebuyers and sellers, would gladly follow-up. In the meantime, invite participants and others to read:

I'd love to chat with CfA folks and I'm based near Davis Sq, but there's no way I can attend on such short notice. I'm co-hosting the MoMo Boston/GDG Boston event tonight.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
