I’m a 34 year old stay-at-home mom to an 8 month old baby girl. My husband (who is in IT), baby and I just moved from Austin, TX to the Bellevue area in July. Carissa is finally getting to a point where she is awake long enough, and not hating her car seat enough, that I can actually start trying to have a life! :-) I am honestly not much of a “group” person. I find it’s a lot easier to really get to know someone and form a true friendship when you can talk to someone one-on-one. Ideally, I’d like to make friends with people that I would like, my baby would like, and, eventually, maybe my husband would like their husband. I’d like to make some true, lasting friendships. Some things about me (husband/baby): • I scrapbook, paint, write, and love being outdoors (hiking, parks, etc.) • I didn’t/don’t breast feed • I planned on having an at-home birth, but ended up having a very loooooong hospital birth due to medical complications • My daughter is the light of my life. I feel so honored and blessed to get to spend each day with her. • My daughter and I are vegetarians for animal rights reasons; I make her all organic food via fruits/veggies and a Magic Bullet blender ;-) • I support gay rights, have gay friends and relatives • I taught 8th grade English for 7 years, before becoming a mommy • I grew up in Illinois • My husband and I are wine drinkers • We are not religious I hope this highlights the kind of person I am, although, one of my very best friends, my matron of honor at my wedding, is a Republican who goes to church every Sunday.
